The Cap’n Kidd Treasure Hunt Pirates Day is presented by the Downtown Milford Business Association and sponsored in part by 7 Seas Restaurant. Come dressed as a pirate and be part of the state’s best and largest scavenger hunt! Participants can pick up a free downtown Treasure Map, strand of pirate beads, and a booty bag starting at 11:30 a.m. at Lisman Landing (or by the Gazebo), then follow their own path to Treasure Stop Shops. Those who solve each ‘clue,’ and get all locations stamped, qualify for a chance to win a Pirates Chest of Treasures – one for adults; one for children.
Visit participating businesses from June 6-10 and enter to win a trip aboard the Pirate Ship Oz on June 12th (winners will be notified on June 10th, and some restrictions apply). Pirate Stops are located in shops throughout downtown and by the Gazebo on the Green, and include: American Cancer Society/Relay for Life, AMF Milford Lanes, Arciuolo’s Shoe Store, Cafe Atlantique, Cloud 9 Day Spa, Dream Vacations, Duck Duck Goose, First United Church of Christ, Frank Italian Ice and Dogs, Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, Mathanasium, Milford Center for the Arts, Pediatric House Call Solutions, Sweet Cupcasions, Renewal by Andersen Window Replacement, Rockin Jump Trumbull, Strong Fire Arms, The Canvas Patch, Title Boxing Club, and Trinity Solar. Remember! You have to solve the clue to collect your booty and get your Treasure Map stamped.
Entertainment will be provided by: Tim Payson & Friends at Lisman Landing, the popular Elwoods band, and musician/composer Katie Gillick, performing in the Gazebo, and performances by the Milford Volunteers Ancient Fife and Drum Corps next to Café Atlantique. Great selfie photo opportunities abound along the way with pirates, pirates and more pirates. There will be pirate-themed activities for children on the Green by the Gazebo, including readings by The Milford Library. The Rock On Girls will be offering rock-and face-painting fun. So put on your best pirate garb, learn how to talk like a pirate, and search for Cap’n Kidd’s treasure!
Cap’n Kidd arrives at Milford Landing precisely at noon and the event continues until 5 p.m. when he sails off again to unknown lands! For more information and detailed schedule, visit the events page at www.downtownmilfordct.org or call (203) 530-0103.
