Amity High School senior Anthony Cuozzo Jr. has signed a national letter of intent to join the Division I rifle team at Ohio State University.{{more}}
Anthony was recruited by Coach Ryan Tanoue of the Buckeyes.
The O.S.U. rifle team finished first in their conference last season and were ranked 12th nationally.
Coach Tanoue has focused on recruiting top athletes with the goal of a National Championship. Anthony will shoot both 3 position smallbore and air rifle for the team.
Anthony has been competing for the Stratford Police Athletic Association (SPAL) Junior Rifle club since the age of 14 under Coach Anthony Panko.
He has competed at the Junior Olympic National Championships twice in air rifle and was a member of two national championship junior teams.
He is nationally ranked by both the NRA and USA Shooting.
SPAL has a long history of NCAA Athletes with former competitors attending Annapolis, St. Johns and Jacksonville State, among others.
Anthony will report to OSU in Mid-August and has been accepted to the School of Engineering.
