The Cable Advisory Council of Area 2, which covers Milford and Orange among other towns, will bestow two $1,500 scholarships in memory of former longtime chairperson Howard Jacobson.
The CAC promotes quality community access television in Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, Orange and Woodbridge. promotes quality Community Access Television with the support of Altice/Cablevision.
Applicants must be a high school or college student pursuing a career in film, mass communications, television, journalism or e-media.
Applicants must be able to prove they are enrolled in high school, community college, college or university and their home address is located within one the six CAC area towns; that they are actively majoring in, taking classes or engaged in independent studies in one or more of the qualifying media fields; and that they are in good standing with their academic institution.
Entrants must submit an essay under 500 words describing their creative coursework, portfolio or project and how it relates to this scholarship. Supplemental links to media projects are welcome. Winners will be selected based on their overall academic performance, portfolio and their personal statement. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2025. To apply, email info@cacarea2.com.
