Alan Balavender, PT, MS is the President and owner of PTSMC. “Bill and Fred founded their practice in1996 with the goal of giving their patients the best physical therapy care in the Greater New Haven area. This partnership helps to strengthen our position and commitment to people living and working in the region that they have already been serving for so long. We are honored to now have the entire Chapin & Havlicek staff join the PTSMC family,” said Balavender in a press release.
Fred Havlicek, PT, MS, MTC has joined as the company’s thirteenth Partner, practicing out of the New Haven clinic, located at 46 Prince Street. Bill Chapin, PT, has joined PTSMC as Director of the Branford clinic, located at 6 Business Park Drive.
Havlicek remarked that “Our missions align perfectly; PTSMC has a reputation of improving the quality of life for patients; returning them to work, athletics and the lifestyle patients enjoyed prior to surgery. Their physical therapists focus on the individual needs of each patient and develop personalized treatment programs that are the safest, most efficient routes to quick recovery.

PTSMC offers outpatient physical therapy services specializing in musculoskeletal, orthopedic and sport-related injuries. Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers now owns and operates 15 locations in Connecticut.
