On Wednesday, Aug. 14, the Orange Police Department held a swearing-in ceremony for Detective Christopher Chiarelli, who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Chiarelli is a 12-year veteran of the Department,{{more}} and has been assigned to the Investigative Service Unit since 2005, during which time he also held an assignment with the Statewide Narcotics Task Force. He holds a B.A. in Justice Studies with a minor in Sociology from Rhode Island College. Chiarelli has been awarded two Letters of Commendation and three Letters of Recognition from the Department. He was also awarded two medals for Outstanding Service and one medal for Meritorious Service from the Connecticut State Police. He will be assigned as a patrol supervisor in the near future.
