The Downtown Milford Business Association has announced that select members are once again participating in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30. The annual celebration was founded by American Express in 2010 and is held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving to encourage holiday shoppers to support independent and local businesses across the country.
“Whether it’s a boutique, hair salon, pub or fitness studio, small businesses have a way of bringing people together,” said Julie Nash, Milford’s director of economic development. “Small Business Saturday is really a way to celebrate the businesses that make Milford feel like home.”
To round out the day, the Milford Library is inviting shoppers for coffee and a free a cappella concert by Victorian carolers singing holiday favorites.
“We are proud to see how Small Business Saturday inspires our community to come together,” said Tracy Bonosconi, DMBA president. “When our businesses thrive, so does Milford.”
Small Business Saturday takes place in Downtown Mllford on Saturday during retail hours. For more information about the DMBA, go to downtownmilfordct.com.
