The Housatonic River Job Network will be hosting Helen G. Sneed, a talent development facilitator at Equus Workforce Solutions, as its guest speaker on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Margaret Egan Community Center in Milford.
Sneed’s presentation, titled “Winning Strategies to Ensure Cover Letter and Interview Success,” will center around four questions: What does the candidate brings to the table that adds to the bottom line, enhances the customer’s experience and improves a product or process; What are some common elements or characteristics that the candidate shares with the organization, department or lived experience that is in concert with their mission statement or vision; What has the candidate learned and put into action that will increase their likeability factor and what do they see as an opportunity for growth, and; How will the role you the candidate is interviewing for improve their independence?
The meeting will also discuss crafting a focused cover letter.
Sneed is a home-grown Connecticut resident with a marketing degree from Tunxis Community College, a management degree from Central Connecticut State University and an executive MBA from the University of New Haven.
She is currently employed by Equus Workforce and part of the American Job Center in New Haven.
