House Minority Leader Themis Klarides, whose district includes parts of Orange, announced today that she will not seek reelection for her seat in the November elections.
In a video-conference call with reporters she did not rule out a potential run for another office, including for governor in 2022.
Klarides has held the 114th District seat for 22 years and became the first woman to lead House Republicans six years ago.
Her time working on and passing legislation is likely already effectively over: she and other state House and Senate leaders announced today that the legislature will not reconvene before the constitutionally-required end of the 2020 session on May 6.
