To the Editor:
I want to share a recent experience my family had with state Sen. James Maroney and state Rep. Kathy Kennedy. My daughter reached out to Rep. Kennedy and Sen. Maroney seeking assistance with special education services for my grandson. They both responded to her letter within hours and have gone above and beyond to provide support and guidance. Throughout the process, these two legislators (of opposite parties I might add) worked in tandem to fight for the forgotten students who require special education accommodations and received almost zero services or assistance after schools transitioned to a virtual setting. As a lifelong Milford resident and a lifelong Democrat, I welcome the opportunity to support this bipartisan duo on election day.
At a time when politics is far too divisive and far too corrosive, we need a team like James and Kathy back in Hartford working for our community. On Nov. 3, I’ll proudly be splitting my ticket to support Rep. Kennedy and Sen. Maroney.
