Diners at Tex-Mex restaurant On the Border be making a donation to the Orange Volunteer Fire Department on Feb. 9, when the restaurant has agreed to set aside 20 percent of its proceeds from meals for the organization.
Orders include food eaten in the restaurant, located at 220 Indian River Rd. in Orange, or picked up as take-out. Drinks are included in the 20 percent. Diners must tell the order-taker that they are participating in the Orange Fire Department program.
“We are grateful that On the Border is supporting us, even during challenging times,” said Orange Fire Chief Vaughan Dumas. “This is a great way to make a contribution to the Fire Department, take a night off from cooking and support a local restaurant.”
Those who wish to participate can go to On the Border or call the restaurant at 203-687-4300. Sales tax and orders delivered by third parties, such as UberEats and DoorDash, don’t count toward the total.
