Ludwig is an American playwright best known for his whimsical comedies which include the Tony Award winner Lend Me A Tenor, the musical Crazy For You which won the Tony award for Best Musical, and his work An American in Paris which was recently revived on Broadway and received three Tony awards in 2015.
Directed by Kevin Pelkey, The Fox on the Fairway is full of mistaken identities, romantic shenanigans, and crazy characters, thus paying homage to the genre of the classic farce. The plot revolves around the approaching annual inter-club golf tournament between the Quail Valley and Crouching Squirrel Country Clubs, and the club members, who will do anything and everything to win. In the end, no matter who wins the tournament, everyone will enjoy this fast-paced comedy and its endearing cast.
Director Kevin Pelkey said, “I love the challenge of directing a farce – the timing and innuendo that go along with it. Ken Ludwig writes some of my favorite shows, so I knew Fox on the Fairway would be a great piece to stage, and it does not disappoint. It also does not hurt to have such a talented cast to make it really funny.”
