The Animal Clinic of Milford is accepting donations to benefit the animals affected by the brush fires in Australia.
The clinic will match the total funds donated to the account up to $2,000. Those funds will then be matched by the International Veterinary Seminars up to $8,000 by Jan. 30.
The fires are Australia’s worst on record and have killed an estimated 1 billion animals.
In addition to assisting with the care of koalas and other wildlife affected by the immediate emergency, the fund will also help longer-term rehabilitation of habitat, restoration of koala and other wildlife populations and research that will benefit wildlife (individuals and populations).
Donations can be made at taronga.org.au/helpkoalas, by calling 203-882-8311, or by visiting the clinic at 135 Gulf St. in Milford.
