Milford announced this morning that it will cancel a planned event to give away free home COVID-19 tests to city residents that was originally scheduled for this afternoon.
As with other towns in the region, the cancellation was spurred by an announcement late Wednesday from the office of Gov. Ned Lamont that shipping and warehouse delays had prevented the state from acquiring its allotment of tests on time.
“Milford emergency management officials are standing by ready to pick up Milford’s allotment of test kits as soon as they enter the state,” a statement from Milford mayor Ben Blake’s office said.
