Milford City Hall will hoist the pride flag on June 12 at 10:30 a.m. to commemorate the diversity and inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community. Mayor Richard Smith will be joined by members of Milford Pride, as well as representatives from the extended LGBTQ+ community, and members of the greater Milford community in an event that highlights the city’s commitment to equality and acceptance.
Kara DeLeonardis Kraus, Milford Pride organizer, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming flag-raising ceremony, saying, “I am honored to participate in this significant event with Mayor Smith, demonstrating our unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community. Milford is a city that values diversity and fosters an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and accepted. We stand united against discrimination and continue to work towards creating a city that celebrates and uplifts all its residents.”
Milford Pride was founded in 2018 with the mission of bringing together the greater Milford LGBTQ+ community.
Members of the extended LGBTQ+ community and the greater Milford community are encouraged to attend the event and stand together in solidarity. City Hall is located at 110 River St.
