Milford Man Arrested For Christmas Eve Burglaries

Milford police charged a local man with burglary after he allegedly attempted Dec. 24 to break into four city business.

Isaias Mendoza-Perez, 39, of 1020 Bridgeport Ave. in Milford, was arrested while trying to hide on the property of a business on Bridgeport Avenue, police said.

The department responded at approximately 11:55 p.m., when the burglary alarm at the business was triggered. The business owner contacted Milford Police as well and indicated he could see a male via surveillance cameras wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans inside of the business parking lot.

Officers arrived and placed Mendoza-Perez in handcuffs while they investigated the incident. Preliminary investigation showed three other businesses in the area had either been broken into or had burglaries attempted.

Police said the officers then spoke with Mendoza-Perez about the incident, and he said he had an argument with his wife and “does stupid things when he fights with her.”

Mendoza-Perez is charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal attempt burglary in the third degree, three counts of larceny in the fourth degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, and three counts of criminal mischief in the third degree.

He was held on a $100,000 bond and appeared in Milford Court  today.
