Milford City Hall will be host to the inaugural CT Sports Summit on Friday, Oct. 4.
This event, sponsored by Connect Media, will bring together industry professionals from pro sports teams, college athletic programs, corporate partners and the media to discuss the foremost ideas in their field and inspire the next generation of aspiring sports professionals, according to the event website. The event is also billed as a chance for undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to get a foot in the door in the world of sports.
The day begins with a one-on-one conversation with Mike Soltys, a University of Connecticut graduate who was ESPN’s first-ever intern and is the current vice president of public relations.
A series of panel discussions and guest speakers will follow as leaders from sports organizations across the state, like the Hartford Athletic and Connecticut Sun, share their expertise on topics such as hiring practices, business operations, and evolving their sales and marketing strategy in an ever-changing consumer market, according to the description.
There will be a light breakfast, catered lunch, and happy hour following the closing address.
