Patrick J. Corcoran
Patrick John Corcoran Sr., 65, of Milford, CT, passed away peacefully at New York Presbyterian Hospital on December 28, 2025, surrounded by his wife, children, son-in-law, siblings, in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
Born on May 9th, 1960, in Jamaica, Queens, NY, to Donald and Joan Corcoran, Patrick grew up in Massapequa, Long Island, with a mischievous spirit and a love for lacrosse, football, fishing, and boating. Patrick graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip in 1978, where he was an accomplished lacrosse and football player. He would then go on to play lacrosse at Boston College where he received his undergraduate degree in 1982, later earning his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University in Queens, New York City in 1990 where he made Law Review. Patrick dedicated 35 years to his career as an attorney, spanning many different firms and industries, which brought him such fulfillment and pride. He ended his career as a partner at Ryan Ryan and Deluca Law Firm.
Patrick’s love for lacrosse continued post-college where he played for the Chicago Lacrosse Club and the New York Athletic Club, making lifelong friends along the way. Patrick was not just a player himself, but a natural leader, dedicated coach, and referee. He continued to referee at the youth and high school level up until his passing. He wanted to bring his love of lacrosse to his hometown and was one of the original co-founders of Stratford Youth Lacrosse along with his dear friend Tom Cotter. He loved nothing more than coaching his sons and countless more lacrosse players. During his tenure as a youth lacrosse coach, Patrick received the Debbie Diaz Award from Sterling House Community Center in recognition of his fairness, sportsmanship, enthusiasm, dedication, and fun-loving spirit. Patrick was known for his integrity both on and off the field.
Patrick was his children’s #1 fan, dedicating countless hours to practices at the ice rink, tournaments across New England, summer lacrosse leagues, and swim meets. He could often be found standing on the glass with a Dunkin Donuts coffee in hand cheering on his sons. Watching his three children play sports at St. Joseph’s High School and Quinnipiac University was a highlight of his life. When his son Ryan was a senior, Patrick was one of the coaches who led the lacrosse team to a state championship title. On the sidelines, he was well known for his tradition of passing around a bottle of Jameson to toast to the team.
While many might call him a “workaholic”, he always made time to do the things he loved. Patrick shared his passion for adventure and travel with his wife and children, encouraging all his children to live abroad. Together, they traveled to Thailand, Australia, Italy, England, Ireland, Kenya, and South Africa where they created memories that will last a lifetime. Patrick’s zest for life included hobbies like windsurfing, scuba diving, hiking, fly fishing, and being active outdoors. He could often be found walking the neighborhood with his two dogs, Bina and Scotty and used to love running with his beloved dog Trooper along the Lordship bluffs.
Patrick was happiest near the water. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending hours out on the boat with friends and family. Patrick could be found sitting on the beach drinking his “skinny pirates”, listening to the Eagles, and playing bocci with his sons. Growing up, Patrick spent summers back from college as a clam digger in the Great South Bay. He raised his family by the beach in Lordship, Stratford and later moved to Laurel Beach in Milford where he was only a short walk away from his favorite place.
Patrick met the love of his life Karen in Newport, Rhode Island in the summer of 1987 where they both say they fell in love at first sight. Patrick was a close college friend of Karen’s sister Mary and brother-in-law Jon. Patrick always felt that Boston College was responsible for giving him his dream life with his family and running into Karen in Newport was the beginning of his journey. Newport has always been a special place for the Corcorans, and he was never happier than when his daughter got married there this past April. He was surrounded by those he loved most at the wedding, and his speech impacted many as they got a special glimpse into the man and father he was.
Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Donald and Joan Corcoran, and his father-in-law, Edward Caliendo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Karen, his three children: Joan and husband Daniel; Patrick Jr.; and Ryan. He is also survived by his brother Donald and wife Shelli; his sister Kathleen and husband Paul; his sister Ann Marie and husband Kevin; his mother-in-law Joan; his sister-in-law Mary and husband Jon; his brother-in-law Edward and wife Therese; and his sister-in-law Amy. Patrick is also survived by his 16 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, cherished cousins, and many loving friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of Peace Church 651 Stratford Road, Lordship. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

Dave retired in 2003 from the State of Connecticut where he worked for the Labor Department as a Lead Interviewer and Veteran’s Employment Representative. After his retirement, he enjoyed substitute teaching in Milford high schools where he became a favorite among the students. Dave also was a member of the United States Army and served in Viet Nam from September 1969 through September 1970. In 1981, he joined the Army Reserves where he held the position of Company Commander. While in the Reserves, Dave received a Direct Commission and retired as a Captain.
Dave attended Central Grammar School (the “Yellow Building”) and graduated in 1965 from Milford High School. He went on to attend Southwood Junior College in Salemburg, North Carolina where he earned an Associate Degree in History. After his military service, he was a Lobbyist in Hartford and was proud that he was instrumental in helping to establish the Vietnam Era GI Bill, which granted tuition waivers to those who served on active duty after November 1955 and prior to January 1977. This waiver allowed Dave to attend Southern Connecticut State University tuition-free, and he earned both a Bachelor of Science Degree in History and a Master of Science Degree in Social Science.
Dave is survived by the love of his life, Eileen (Russo) Doyle. He is also survived by his sons Timothy R. Doyle (Stephanie Madonna) of Wallingford and Brian D. Doyle (Lindsay Darling) of Milford, grandchildren Julia, Annmarie, and David of Wallingford and Aila and Ronan of Milford. Survivors also include his brother, Peter C. Dave was a man with many interests and hobbies. He was a true patriot and a Military buff. He collected Military Medals and Military History books and could answer military Jeopardy and trivia questions without hesitation. Dave also loved trains, cog railways, and HO model trains, and he enjoyed participating in the Railroad Club at the Milford Senior Center. Having minored in Geography, Dave loved traveling with Eileen, his favorite traveling companion, and no trip was taken without a map in hand. He had a full-size filing cabinet filled with maps, although he eventually learned to trust his GPS – but still took along a map “just in case.” Dave was always happy to talk about his travels, which included trips to Europe, Australia, Alaska, and Aruba, to name only a few. Dave was also an avid golfer having played on his high school golf team. Later in life, he enjoyed golf outings with Foran High School retired teachers and friends. As enjoyable as these hobbies were, Dave’s true passion was spending time with his five precious grandchildren. In addition to playing games and taking walks, the honey buns loved climbing up on Grandpa’s lap, and he would take them on all kinds of adventures through his laptop.
Dave took pride in serving his community, as well. When his sons were young, he coached a youth soccer team, scored for several baseball teams, and attended every sporting event his sons participated in whether it was baseball, basketball, football, or track. He served as an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 12, worked on numerous Eagle Scout projects and was proud that both of his sons attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He also was an active member of Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church where he served on several committees including the Staff Parish Committee, Trustees, Worship Committee as an Usher, Clean Up Committee for the Community Dinners, and Food Coordinator for the Fair on the Green.

William Everett
Roy Lewis Green
Roy Lewis Green, 103 years young, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025 at the VA Hospital in West Haven. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Green.
Roy was born August 5, 1922 in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Raymond Lewis and Mary Florence Green. He proudly served during WWII in the Navy from June 1943 until Dec 29, 1945. His ship was LSM 227. In his later years he loved to wear his Proud Navy Veteran cap and we lost count of how many meals people bought for him. Trust us, he appreciated every one. And if you were lucky, you got to hear some of his stories. He graduated from Bassick High School in 1941. He was a tool and die maker by trade. He worked for Remington Arms in Bridgeport for 34 years until his retirement as Supervisor in 1985.
After retiring he was able to enjoy some time with Ann until she passed in 1988. He volunteered at Milford Hospital, and Mary Taylor Church. Ushered at the Shubert Theatre. Roy marched with the Spirit of Black Rock Fife and Drum Corps for many years as a drummer.
He was an honorary Girl Scout with troup 30320 in Milford. He loved to be included in their activities and tell stories from WW2. Especially about Skeeter, the monkey they had on their ship. But most of all he loved spending time with his family. Especially at Lake Kanasatka in New Hampshire.
Dad knew he wasn’t the biggest guy in school, but he was blessed with great athletic talent. He excelled at basketball, tennis and baseball in high school. He knew he had to hustle to be better. In his later years he took up golf and was proud of his 4 holes-in-one. “That’s what I was aiming for”. On July 4th, 1939 he got tickets to the Yankees from the Bridgeport Elks and saw Lou Gehrig’s famous farewell speech. He played in many senior golf leagues, including Tashua Knolls, and a bowling league until his late 90’s.
In 1944, while home on a 3 day leave, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Sherwood. In 1946 after getting out of the Navy they purchased their home in the Rivercliff section of Devon. They raised 4 children there.
Roy was predeceased by his wife, Ann, his son Robert Green and son-in-law Scott Townsend. And siblings Elsie Gray and John Green. He is survived by his son Jeffrey Green (Kimberly) of Monroe, and his daughters Jill Anderson(Carl) of Clinton, and Patricia Townsend of Cheshire. Six grandchildren, Kim, Brian, Erin, Riley, Kyle and Michael. And 5 great grandchildren.
Roy knew the secret to staying young was staying social and active. He loved his breakfasts at the Flyer, his “Costco Tuesday Hotdogs”, and fish lunches at Uberti’s with his nephew Craig. Plus Sunday pancakes at McDonalds. He drove until he was 102!
We would like to thank the caring staff at Carriage Green in Milford, and the VA staff in West Haven who cared for Dad in his final week.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 1:00pm-4pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Ave, Milford. Military Honors will be rendered.

Lewis House
Lewis House, 86, of Woodbridge, Connecticut passed away at 12:33 am on January 2, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was surrounded in his final hours by his entire 14-member clan, including his wife, three children, and seven grandchildren.
Lewis was a doting husband, devoted father, playful grandfather, favorite professor, and loyal friend who will be remembered for his insightful knowledge of past and current events, his endless positivity, his corny jokes, his sweet tooth (especially for Cracker Jacks and Nutella), and his love of his family.
Lewis was born in Brooklyn in 1939 to Martin and Jeanette (Jennie) House, née Swedlow. Martin was a decorator and Jennie was a homemaker, and they ran a strict household. Brother Bob was born seven years later, and the family moved to Queens in 1950, where they were surrounded by aunts and uncles and cousins in the neighborhood, many of whom joined them for summer vacations at Kiamesha Lake near Monticello, New York. Lew excelled in school and at protecting his brother.
Lewis met Susan Eldred in 1961 in a class at Adelphi University, and introduced himself by asking if her high school ring was from Andrew Jackson High School, where he was also an alum. After graduation in 1962, Lew went on to New York University for a Ph.D. in Latin American History and then in 1965, he was drafted into the Army. On the advice of a professor, he deferred the draft and instead joined up voluntarily as an officer, a longer but safer commission during the Vietnam War. Then, because of his happy demeanor, agnostic views, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life, he was named as Chaplain at a General Hospital stateside, avoiding a second tour of duty overseas.
He gave himself the nickname “Lucky Lew” because he survived the War, because he was able to turn his military experience into a life-long consulting side hustle, and because Sue said yes to marrying him in 1967. But in fact, it was his determination and hard work that got him every win in life. He paid for his own education, and worked hard to build the successful career he enjoyed. And he passed on the same drive to his children, all three of whom earned advanced degrees and career success.
Lew was a popular member of the Southern Connecticut State University history department for more than 40 years. The faculty appreciated his teamwork (always willing to take on 8 am classes, for example, and chair of the department for more than 15 years). Students enjoyed his relaxed approach to history, to teaching, and to scheduling a make-up exam or offering extra help during office hours. They also loved his stories about his jobs as a traveling elevator operator, a shoe salesman, and a pickle-packer as a young man in New York City. During his working years, his family was accustomed to walking into a store or restaurant anywhere in greater New Haven and immediately having a student or former student come over to say hi to Dr. House.
Lew had a special relationship with each grandchild—and a special way of spoiling each of them. He and Sue took the whole family to Disneyworld numerous times, despite not liking roller coasters (and riding only It’s a Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean). He would cook grilled cheese sandwiches in the middle of the night during sleepovers, and though he jokingly claimed not to be, he was happy to share his M&Ms and Frosted Flakes. He clipped articles about subjects that interested the older grandkids, and always had a “dad joke” at the ready for the younger ones.
Lew is survived by his wife, Susan House, brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Rita House, daughter and son-in-law Deb and Josh Garskof, daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Jeff Roche, and son and daughter-in-law Dave and Dana House—and by seven grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, Sam, Tyler, Jake, Sophia, and Alex.
A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2026 at 11am at Orange Congregational Church, 205 Meeting House Lane Orange, CT 06477, followed by a celebration of his life. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the American Stroke Association.

As a child and youth, Jamie exhibited a proclivity for creative endeavors, computers, and serving others. At age 14 he began his ‘service career’ at Saint Joseph’s Hospital as their first boy volunteer, transporting patients from the Emergency Room to get x-rays and lab work done.
After graduating Stamford High School in 1974, Jamie attended Norwalk Community College and Boston University, graduating in 1982 with a major in biology and a minor in computer science.
In 1983, after moving back to Connecticut, he began working as a dedicated programmer at the company that came to be known as Hyperion Software. After almost twenty years at Hyperion, the tragedy of September 11, 2001, compelled him to reassess his career path. In 2002 he founded Humanitects, Inc., which focused on creating and maintaining user-friendly websites for nonprofits. Gary Bunting was Jamie’s dependable co-worker and good friend for many years. Humanitect’s clients have included area churches and synagogues, medical care nonprofits, the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce, Beth El Center, Connecticut Legal Rights Project, as well as projects run by professional athletes.
Jamie came out as gay as a teen and embraced his identity despite a mainstream culture of homophobia. As a young man, he took frequent vacations to Cape Cod, later naming his and Walter’s first two beloved beagles Bradford and Franklin after streets in Provincetown.
He was surprised, however, to meet the love of his life, Walter Mullen, when he was approximately thirty years old. Walter introduced Jamie to Milford, and Jamie became enamored particularly by the center of town, where they spent over 35 years of partnership together, the last twenty of them in holy matrimony.
Jamie and Walter had left the church as young adults due to a lack of LGBTQ affirmation. They eventually made their way back through the United Church of Christ (UCC) and congregations that did embrace all God’s children: no exceptions, no exclusions. Jamie and Walter joined the UCC congregation at Battell Chapel at Yale and were active members until Battell shed its UCC identity. They then became members of United Church on the Green and in October 2005 had their relationship legally acknowledged there through a civil union/matrimony ceremony officiated by the Rev. John Gage.
In 2008, Walter and Jamie joined the First UCC Milford near their home. Quickly Jamie became a church leader, updating the church’s website and becoming a deacon. He served on the senior pastor search committee and led the Open and Affirming Team, which facilitated the church adopting its Open and Affirming covenant on Pentecost 2019.
Jamie served local community in countless ways. He worked on the nonprofit Bread & Roses, a hospice for people dying of AIDS before the advent of lifesaving drugs. He was a member of the Milford Camera Club as an avid photographer; the Milford Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Milford Business Association, promoting Milford Restaurant Week among other events.
More recently he took on a leadership role with the Nambale Cornerstone Project, which raises funds for a Kenyan school that largely serves orphans from the AIDS epidemic. He was a leader with All in for Milford, promoting the benefits of local, affordable housing and community conversation. He was an early proponent for Milford Pride and helped the organization raise funds through events like Bobby Jo Valentine concerts.
Jamie was supportive of Walter’s long, stellar career at the Yale School of Management. Together they doted on their many “four-legged children” over the years: cat Stella and dogs Blanche, Bradford, Franklin, Margot, William, Harry, and Jenna. They took annual vacations to Cape May, New Jersey. Jamie and Walter cared for each other through health challenges, meeting each day with patience, gentleness, and a deep, abiding love. In October they celebrated their twentieth anniversary.
Jamie was faithful, articulate, and astute; he loved to share his wisdom and witty Jamie-isms; but most of all Jamie was a good friend to many and a servant leader on behalf of the vulnerable, near and far.
Jamie had recently been diagnosed with abdominal cancer and was preparing for major surgery later this month when he passed away.
A Memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 2 PM at the First United Church Of Christ congregational, 34 West Main St., Milford, CT.

Albert Syat
Albert “Al” Syat, 81 of Milford, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 17, 2025 at his home in Milford, CT. Al was born on February 24, 1944 in Blytheville, Arkansas, to the late loving George and Ruth Syat.
Following his graduation from Milford High School in 1962, Al worked for the NYNYH Railroad, when he was cordially “invited” to join the United States Army in 1969 and was trained as a military police officer and dog handler, roles that reflected both his discipline and deep respect for responsibility while proudly serving two years and a tour of duty in Vietnam. His time spent as a dog handler proved very useful following his time in the military, as he carried on training dogs independently as well. After his service, Al attended New Haven College, where he enthusiastically took any class that sparked his interest, especially those centered on history. Reading was a passion for Al and he was known for his abundant knowledge and reputation as a true history buff.
Al went on to build a diverse and accomplished career. He proudly served as a special with the Milford Police Department, notably becoming the oldest candidate at the time to complete the police academy in his mid 30s while working full-time, an achievement that spoke to his determination and grit. Though his professional path included several careers, Al proved time and again that his wit and intelligence allowed him to succeed in each endeavor.
Known for his good-natured spirit, dry sense of humor, wit and easygoing personality, Al found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was stoic, stubborn and lived life on his own terms. His heart was huge, caring and kind, especially with animals, as he loved all creatures great and small, bringing home the abandoned, abused and unwanted from childhood throughout his life and providing a loving, caring home for the rest of their days. Al, being a creature of habit, started every day in his beloved 2010 Camaro watching the sun rise, working the New York Times crossword at Gulf Beach and listening to the “Oldies”. Boating was especially dear to him, and he cherished cruising with family and friends aboard their 26-foot cabin cruiser.
Al is survived by his lifelong best friend and former wife Bonnie Syat, brother David Syat, (Gail) and extended beloved family and friends. Al was predeceased by his sister Judith “Judy” Syat in April of 2025.
A “Celebration of Al” will be held by the family in the future. To leave online condolences, please visit our website at www.codywhitefuneralservice.com.
