Jay Stollman & the Black Rock All-Stars are reuniting to headline Orange-based Jamie Hulley Arts Foundation’s 23rd Annual Evening for the Arts Gala on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.
Fairfield County’s “original” funk-jam band will come back together again for one night only with a set list of classic soul and R&B hits. Veteran performer and recording artist Jay Stollman has performed worldwide with musical legends such as The Rascals, James Brown, Elton John, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Peter Frampton, Blues Traveler, Jose Feliciano, Joan Jett and Diana Ross. This reunion concert features the hits of James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Wilson Pickett, Tower of Power and more.
The event benefits the Jamie Hulley Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the educational enrichment and professional development of young artists and early career professionals. The foundation was started to celebrate the life of Jamie Alaine Hulley. All proceeds from the gala are dedicated to scholarships, educational programs and community project sponsorships throughout Connecticut, especially in greater New Haven and Fairfield counties.
The Evening for the Arts reception and raffle preview begins at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be available. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $50 in advance, or $60 at the door and may be purchased through the Quick Center box office at 203-254-4010 or online at quickcenter.fairfield.edu/box-office. For more information about the Jamie Hulley Arts Foundation, visit jamiehulleyartsfund.org.
