Orange Congregational Church is hosting in-person and online worship services for Holy Week and Easter Sunday on its YouTube page. The schedule is as follows:
On Palm Sunday, March 28, congregants can receive a palm and join in a car palm processional around the church. Arrival time starts at 9:30 a.m. in the rear parking lot. Everyone should stay in their cars. The cars will then proceed along the green, shouting Hosanna and ushering in Holy Week. Email the church office at
oc******@sn**.net
if you plan to attend.
There will also be a drive-through collection for Columbus House/Abraham’s Tent, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; palm will be provided then too. Visit orangecongregationalchurch.org/events for donation needs.
On Wednesday, March 31, the church will host a “Praying the Bible” Holy Week Bible study on Zoom at 8 p.m. This is an exploration of scripture using the ancient spiritual practice of lectio divina, or “sacred reading.”
On Maundy Thursday, April 1, YouTube worship will be available at 5 p.m. or any time after that.
On Good Friday, April 2, there will be an “Art of Scripture” prayer practice and gathering on Zoom at 7 p.m.
On Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, all are invited to come in person to church any time to decorate the Easter cross outside in front of the sanctuary with live flowers. Attendees can also join in person on the green at 8 a.m. for a service of worship led by the youth and lay leaders. All safety precautions will be observed, including masks worn at all times, family groups maintaining a distance of at least six feet from each other and a requirement for pre-registration and check-in should contact tracing be needed. To register, email
oc******@sn**.net
and arrive about 10 minutes prior to start time for check-in. Do not congregate after the service.
At 10 a.m. there will also be a special Zoom “Easter Greeting” coffee hour. And all worship services will be available on YouTube.
