The Orange Lions Club organized a food pantry donation drive to help mitigate the continued food insecurity in town caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which were delivered on May 8 to the Orange Food Pantry. Led by Lions Betty Hadlock and Pat McCorkle, club received nearly $2,000 in cash contributions for the purchase of local supermarket grocery “gift cards,” and collected a trunk-load of nonperishable food for donation. The Orange Lions also received funds from the Connecticut Lions District 23A from a district-wide Lions Club International Grant to aid local communities with food bank needs. The grant provided an additional $250 in supermarket grocery gift cards.
