Orange had a lot to celebrate on its 150th birthday in 1972. One cause for celebration was that the Little League all-star team won the state championship in their first year of participation. The team went 8-0 in a single elimination format culminating with a 6-5 victory over Hartford. The schedulers gave the group a tough road with only one home game, probably a welcome to the all-star tournament.
