The Orange Department of Police Service recently held an awards ceremony at High Plains Community Center.
Police Chief Robert Gagne thanked the citizens of Orange for being watchful with numerous acts of bravery not recognized but equally important.{{more}}
Gagne said the department averages four medical emergencies daily.
Thirteen police officers and nine civilians were recognized.
Susan Cambria. who was driving on Wheelers Farm Road. noticed a vehicle driving slowly with the drivers face covered. Cambria not only notified police but kept an eye on the vehicle including getting a photo of the license plate.
Her actions resulted in two burglary suspects being apprehended. Linda Subbloie was recognized for locating a missing child who had been gone for a number of days.
Russell Allen, Ronglin Yang, Robert Milewski, Alexandria D’Aurio. Steven Cifarelli, Theresa Skinner and Adma Luth also received civilians awards.
Dispatcher S. Henderson along with Officer’s M. Morrin, M. Bernegger, M. Kosh, R. DePolo, S. Henderson, B. Foote, H. Burke, R. Amarone, M. Liuizzi and J. Platek were recognized with Letters of Recognition.
Officers B. Foote, M. Kosh, M. Liuzzi, H. Burke, J. Menga and J. Platek were recognized with Letters of Commendation.
Officer’s of H. Burke and J. Cokic also received a Certificate of Commendation
Sgt. H. LaRock and Officers H. Burke, B. Foote and M. Kosh also received lifesaving awards for their assistance with a cardiac arrest and construction/electrocution accident.
