Landisio
Orange Police Sgt. Vincent Landisio will be honored at the Amity Chamber of Commerce Community Awards and Annual Meeting on Sept. 25 as the town’s Police Officer of the Year, along with Woodbridge Police Officer John Lalli.
Both honorees were chosen by the leadership teams of the Orange and Woodbridge police departments. They will be presented the awards for outstanding service to their respective communities at the Courtyard by Marriott, located at 136 Marsh Hill Rd. in Orange. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. with a focused program and breakfast starting at 9 a.m.
Orange Police Chief Robert Gagne and Woodbridge Police Chief Ronald E. Smith will present the awards with members of both departments, elected officials, chamber members, family, friends and the general public in attendance.
Landisio has served the Orange Police Department for over eight years. After two years in patrol, he was assigned to the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force, and was requested to participate in the Connecticut State Police/New Haven Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force, a regional task force initiated in response to issues affecting all the municipalities in the greater New Haven region. He was reassigned back to the department after being promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2023.
As a supervisor in the department who is a certified emergency medical technician, Landisio has embraced the task of coordinating the town’s emergency medical service efforts. One of his first accomplishments was to reestablish Orange’s status as a HEARTSafe Community.
“Throughout his successes, Sergeant Landisio has always conducted himself with the utmost humility,” Gagne said. “He continually strives to build relationships, both internally and externally, and is an epitome of the values articulated in the department’s mission statement: ‘To protect life and property and to serve the public, always with integrity and professionalism, striving to achieve an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust and cooperation.’ It is for all these reasons that Sergeant Vincent Landisio is highly deserving of being honored as Police Officer of the Year.”
Lalli has been a member of the Woodbridge Police Department since February 2019, bringing with him over two decades of experience from his prior service with the New Haven Police Department.
Amity Chamber Community Awards will also be presented to the Orange and Bethany Firefighters of the Year and Business of the Year.
Tickets are $50 each for chamber members, police officers, firefighters, veterans, senior citizens and their families.
