Applications are open for the Rotary Club of Orange’s annual scholarships to members of senior classes from Orange who are furthering their education in college or other recognized institutions.
The number of scholarships and the dollar amount of each can vary year to year. The number generally ranges between three and six with the amount of each ranging from $1,000 to $2,000.
The scholarships are a one-time, lump sum given directly to seniors who have been accepted at an accredited college or institution and plan to attend the ensuing year. The scholarships are based primarily on the financial need of the student although high school grades, activities and community involvement are also considered.
To receive the scholarship, the student must be a citizen of the United States and resident of Orange. No member of the immediate family of any Rotarian is eligible for the scholarship.
The scholarship funds will be presented to each successful applicant at an Orange Rotary Club meeting in May or June.
