St. Mary School in Milford is hosting its 46th Annual Invitational Basketball Tournament starting Friday, Feb. 21 a pep rally at 1 p.m. and a Family Fun Night at 7 p.m., featuring games between the students and their parents and alumni.
The tournament finishes on Sunday, March 8 with a Championship Day where participants in the finals are recognized for their achievements.
During the past 45 years, the tournament has grown to the point where it now includes 45 teams from 14 towns throughout New Haven and Fairfield counties. During the 17 days of the tournament over 600 players ages 8 to 13 participate in front of their neighbors, friends and families.
The events, run entirely by parent volunteers, are expected to bring in over $30,000 in fundraising.
