Join us in our Home Is Where the Heart Is: Hurricane Relief Project on Nov. 11-12, 2017. First United Church of Christ youth groups are passionate about helping hurricane victims. We have worked for many years helping people get back into their homes after disasters.
So, we are raising sponsorship for building & cleanup materials for St. Bernard Project (SBP) who is already on the ground in Texas, helping “shrink the time between disaster and recovery.” Our youth have worked with SBP on service projects since 2008.
We are raising awareness of the massive need from Texas through the Gulf Coast to Florida and Puerto Rico. It seems overwhelming, but we can’t let that stifle our care for faraway neighbors who need help.
And, we will raise support for our Service Trip. We will go to serve so that we can extend the direct care of our community to those places and among those people who suffered from Hurricane Harvey’s Impact.
Just think, our community could rebuild a home for someone who has lost so much and doesn’t have the means to recover!
How can you help:
• Sponsor Building Materials for St. Bernard Project for clean up &
housing in Texas. $25-$500
• Come & Learn from speakers and youth (6-9 PM)
• Support our Service Trip: ($5 each)
