Actress Sheryl Faye will perform her live, one-woman, multimedia show entitled “Abigail Adams – Liberty and Legacy” at the Case Memorial Library in Orange on Saturday, May 30 at 2 p.m.
“Through Adams’ own letters and writings – paired with contemporary staging, original music, and technology – the show invites audiences to experience her enduring relevance in conversations about liberty, equality, leadership and civic responsibility,” Faye says of her performance. She adds that Adams was “a stalwart feminist, a champion of women’s rights and equality under the law.”
The Friends of the Case Memorial Library will host their annual business meeting prior to the show at 1 p.m. The agenda includes the election of new board members, awarding of the Lucia Scillia scholarships and a report from the treasurer. President of the Friends Phyllis Gwatkin will also present her year-end review that includes how donations and book sales have helped to fund events and other projects for the library.
At 1:30 p.m., guests may enjoy refreshments before the show begins.
The event is free and open to the public; registration is required. Registration opens May 9 at 7 a.m. Register at casememoriallibrary.org or call 203-891-2170.
