The Orange Players announced Tuesday it is hosting open auditions for its upcoming show, The Night I Died at the Palace Theatre, by Pat Cook. Performance dates are April 27 and 28, and May 4 and 5.
The show is a 90-minute murder mystery/comedy play in two acts, with 12 cast members. Clues intermingle with unveiled threats as cast member turns against cast member. It is being produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois. The director for this show will be Amy Craw.
For auditions, actors will be asked to read sides from the play that will be handed out at the time of audition. They will also read from a one-minute monologue of their choice. A monologue will be provided for actors who do not bring one. Monologues do not need to be memorized.
All auditions will be at the High Plains Community Center at 525 Orange Center Rd. in Orange on Monday, March 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Room 8, and on Tuesday, March 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Room 6. Callbacks, if needed, will be held Wednesday, March 7 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Room 4.
