The Orange Chamber of Commerce has announced that its Semi-Annual 1st Selectman Debate will be held on Monday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. The debate will be held at Orange’s High Plains Community Center and will once again pit the Republican five-term incumbent James Zeoli against the Democratic challenger, a town selectmen and local attorney, Kenneth Lenz.

Dr. Daniel May, University of New Haven Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2013, will be the debate’s moderator. He is an Orange resident.
Under May’s leadership, the University has experienced steady growth and improvement in its academic programs, including expansions to campuses in Orange, Old Lyme and Prato, Italy.
Prior to UNH, May served as vice president for academic affairs at the University of Findlay in Ohio, where he had worked since 1991. May began his career at Findlay as an assistant professor of geology, rising to full professor in 2001.He was named vice president for academic affairs at Findlay in 2004.
May earned his bachelor’s degree in geology at Stanford University and a Ph.D. in geology at the University of California at Santa Barbara.
