Ernest Paul Addario
Ernest Paul Addario, longtime Milford resident, passed away on May 2nd after a battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakobs Disease.
Ernie was a hairdresser just shy of 50 years, a staple in Westport, he loved what he did with a
passion. Ernie was a fantastic cook, loved good food, good music and always had a smile on his
face.
Ernie is survived by his wife Dorothy; his son David, son Paul and his wife Melissa, son Stephen
and wife Christina, Daughter Madison and Fiance Brian, and son Connor. Ernie is also survived by his brother Phillip and his husband Bruce, brother and sister-in-law Barry and Rosemary, William and Ellen. Beloved uncle to Lauren, Lisa, Lesley, Lynsey and Lucy. Cherished Poppy to
his grandchildren Hannah, Caleb, Alijah, Ava, Alex, Archer and great grandchildren Ryan and
Roman. Ernie is pre-deceased by his parents Erminio and Antoinette.
There will be no services per Ernie’s wishes, his family will be having a private dinner in his honor. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the CJD foundation or Connecticut Hospice in Ernie’s name.
Jinny Monique Giovanna Antonelli
Jinny Monique Giovanna Antonelli, was born on December 10, 1981 in Norwalk, CT to Mark and Monique Antonelli of Milford.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, a daughter, a son, and nephew and Alexander Jean.
She is predeceased by both her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jinny graduated from Platt Technical School in 2000.
She enjoyed cooking, especially for the holidays, driving and most of all – her children.
Jinny, although your heart has stopped beating you are still here as your life flows through your children, and Alexander.
Your body, your mind and your soul are finally at peace.

Marie Claire Baneat
Marie Claire Baneat, 84, of Milford, beloved wife of Henry Baneat, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family. Born on June 17, 1937 in Dracut, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Caffrey.
Marie graduated from Milford High School in 1955. She met Henry while working at U.S. Motors and they married in 1957. Henry was able to be by her side and hold her hand on their 65th Anniversary, May 1st.
Along with her husband, Marie also leaves behind her children, Lisa (William Soda) Wilcock, Michael (Mary Stapleton) Baneat, and Ann Walsh; ten wonderful grandchildren; five adoring great grandchildren (and three on the way); and many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings and son-in-law, Daniel Walsh.

Nina Bialka was born June 16, 1926 and passed away on May 16, 2022 at age 95.

Helen Buchla
Helen Buchla, 89, of Stratford and formerly of Milford, beloved wife of the late Thomas Buchla, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2022. Born on August 21, 1932 in Scranton, PA she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sophia (Jackowski) Tomaszewski.
Helen is survived by her children, Joyce Buchla and Janice (Rick) Huston; her grandchildren, Julie (Brandon Bogan) Huston, and Richard “Ricky” Huston III; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her brother, Edward, and sister, Evelyn.

Carleen A. Celmer
Carleen A. Celmer, 68, of Orange, beloved wife of Francis (Frank) Celmer, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 21, 2022 to be received by the open arms of her son Sean. She was born on October 26, 1953 in Benton Harbor, Michigan but settled, worked, and made home the Northeast.
She was a graduate of Lake Michigan Catholic High School and Siena Heights University. Her career as an Ultra High Net Worth Accountant at KPMG and Price Waterhouse gave her challenges and experiences that were fulfilling, motivational, and beneficial. She was also an avid reader and genealogist for her family. Mostly she enjoyed her seven grandchildren, home decorating, finding and preparing new recipes, and making endless lists.
Carleen is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Cecily Celmer-Shubin and son-in-law, Denis Shubin; granddaughters, Anya, Sofia, Naomi, and Stella; and grandsons, Roman, Alexander, and Blaise.

Max J. Chalmers III
Max’s family relocated to Milford in July of 1988 from his birthplace of Queens, New York. He first attended Notre Dame High School, ultimately graduating from Jonathan Law High School in 1997, whereby he ventured south to Florida, attending Barry University in pursuit of higher education in Business Management. It was during this time that Max found his calling for hospitality and cuisine, he honed his skills, and went on to forge a career as a head-chef and kitchen manager. The wellbeing of friends and family was of high priority for Max. Whether 5am, 5pm, or just for 5 minutes, one could count on him having his phone on or near him, and without fail, was always available- with a smile on his face!
While visiting family and friends on vacation in Connecticut, God called our Max home. From his sunrise to his sunset, he remained a beacon of love for all those that crossed his path. His path and story may have been abridged; however, the width and depth of his loving nature will far surpass his years with us. Max will forever remain in our hearts, although right now they are broken in his void. Your Mom, Bizzle, Nuk, and Sis love you always!
Calling hours will take place on Friday, May 27th, from 4 to 7 o’clock. A funeral service will then commence at 7 o’clock, in the funeral parlor. All subsequent services will be private.
Linda M. Cline
Linda M. Cline, 75, of Orange, CT passed away at Yale-New Haven Hospital on May 9, 2022 with her loving family at her bedside. She was born April 24, 1947 in New Haven, CT the youngest daughter of Francis and Lucy McKernan. Linda was a devoted and passionate educator with a high school teaching career of more than 25 years, most recently at Frank Scott Bunnell High School in Stratford, CT. She dedicated herself to her husband, family, and students. She loved being Gram, often baking and crafting with her granddaughters, the loves of her life. Linda enjoyed traveling, spending time in her garden, and being a teacher and counselor to her students. She is survived by her husband Joseph W. Cline, and her children Jennifer Cline, Kerry Totten (James Totten), and Ryan Cline (A. Rey Pamatmat). She also leaves behind two beloved granddaughters Kylie and Madeline and siblings Francis “Buddy” McKernan and Patricia Warley.

Lydia Cortez
Lydia Cortez, 68, beloved fiancé of Richard Gullesh, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 1, 2022, in her home surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, on April 23, 1954 she was the daughter of the late Gregorio Collazo Diaz and Luz Maria Rios Collazo.
Lydia retired in 2009 after 37 years as a service order writer for SNET/SBC/AT&T. She was an amazing cook and her rice was a treat that everyone looked forward to at family gatherings. She loved gardening, collecting angel figurines, and trips to Cape Cod with her love, Rich. Lydia loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her loving fiancé, Rich, Lydia is survived by her children, Marcus (Laura) Cortez and Edward (Jessy) Cortez, Jr., her step-son, Jason (Kelly) Gullesh; grandchildren, Ciara, Amaya, Angelina, EJ and Mark; her brothers, Anthony (Mary) Collazo and Freddie (Ida) Collazo; her nieces and nephews, Stephanie Messina, Julie Calogero, Anthony Ivan, and Chris, Tiffany, Jasmine, Christina and Willie Collazo; her aunts and uncles, Alba, Peter, Thelma, Norma and Johnny Rios, and Mirta Ratcliff; her former spouse, Edward (Romi) Cortez; and many extended family members and friends. Francis R. Coyle, Sr.
Francis “Frank” Reed Anthony Coyle, Sr., 80, of Orange, beloved husband of Barbara Pfnausch Coyle, passed away on May 8, 2022. Born on May 29, 1941 in New Haven, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary Coyle.
Frank had a long successful career at SNET retiring in 2000 as a Purchasing Manager. Upon his retirement, he was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Contract Standard Board in Hartford. He also enjoyed being employed at Namco Pools in Orange where he was recognized as one of the top salesmen in New England. Frank served his community in a multitude of ways. He was a proud, active fireman at the Orange Volunteer Fire Department for 51 years and served on the Building Committee for Amity High School.
Frank was known to everyone as a dedicated, hardworking family man who loved to challenge himself with different projects whether they be his own or someone else’s. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, growing vegetables and assisting Barbara with her flowers as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Frank leaves behind his children, Susan (Dennis) Marsh, Christine (Andrew Seibert) Coyle, Edward (Katie) Coyle, and Francis Coyle, Jr.; grandchildren, Emma, Nathan, and Eliza Marsh, and Odessa and Hartford Coyle; sister, Ellen Coyle; as well as a niece, nephews, and many extended family and friends.

Anthony J. Del Visco
Anthony “Tony” James Del Visco, 89, of Orange, beloved husband of 63 years to Constance Bonando Del Visco, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He was born on November 30, 1932 in Montclair, NJ to the late James and Chancy Del Visco.
Anthony is survived by his daughter, Virginia D. (Peter) Proestakes; son, James S. Del Visco; grandsons, Constantine A. (Kore) Proestakes and John J. Proestakes; granddaughters, Olivia and Ava Del Visco; great grandchildren, Peter and Eleanor Proestakes; siblings, Rose Ann (Andrew) Boyajian, Maryann (Timothy) Seeley, and Lawrence Del Visco; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends.
Anthony proudly served two years in the U.S. Army at a Combat Engineering Company in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1956 as a Corporal. Anthony graduated from Michigan State University cum laude with a B.A. and later achieved his MBA from the University of Bridgeport. He participated in advanced studies at Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania as well.
Anthony retired as a District Manager after working for 33 years at Southern New England Telephone in New Haven. He gave to his community by serving 25 years as the Chairman of the Board of Assessment Appeals for the Town of Orange, volunteering as a Tax Assistant & Counselor of the Internal Revenue Service for 10 years, as well as serving as past president for the Orange Exchange Club, Hamden Jaycees, and past chairman on the Town of Orange Republican Town Committee.
Anthony was a lifelong NY Yankees fan and an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing at the Orange Hills Country Club, Grassy Hill Country Club, and Homewood Acres. He also traveled extensively to many countries with his wife and dear friends.

Rowland Gill
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rowland Gill of Milford, Connecticut, who passed away on May 5, 2022, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rowland Gill to pay them a last tribute.

Henry M. Goldbach, Jr
Henry M. Goldbach, Jr., 95, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Mildred (Murphy) Goldbach, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2022. Born on October 2, 1926 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen (Grossman) Goldbach, Sr. He grew up in Trumbull and was a resident of Milford since 1951.
Following graduation from Bassick High School, Hank proudly served his country in the United States Navy Seabees during WWII. He was employed by US Motors for several years before establishing his excavating business. He thoroughly enjoyed his work but above all he was devoted to his family.
He is survived by his children, Kathleen Goldbach of Milford and Charles Goldbach (Carol Hannon) of Southbury; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Elizabeth; sister-in-law Marian Murphy of Shelton; and several nieces and nephews.

Herbert James Golde
Herbert James Golde, 97 of Orange and formerly of Milford, beloved husband of the late Doris Golde, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2022. Born on January 23, 1925 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Nathan and Francis (Datz) Golde.
Herbert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. during WWII, where he served on multiple Aircraft Carriers. After returning from service, he married the love of his life, Doris. Together they raised their family and happily, did everything together, including playing Pinochle. Herbert was also a professional racecar driver and had a great love for NASCAR.
Herbert is survived by his children, Wayne (Dede) Golde, Bryan (Skidboot) Golde, Nancy Bonaparte, and Lisa (Jim) Richetelli, Jr.; his grandchildren, Scott (Meagan) Golde, Lauren (Michael) Paone, Rachel, Kevin and Derek Bonaparte, and Michelle, Julie, and James (Gina) Richetelli; his great grandchildren, Chase, Harper, Alyssa, Michael, and Peyton; his sisters, Ruth Berkowitz, and Dorothy Fialk; and many nieces and nephews. Herbert was predeceased by his son-in-law, Kevin Bonaparte, and brother, Philip Golde.

Alicia Ann Haley
Alicia Ann Haley, 57, of Milford, passed away on May 13, 2022 after a brief hospitalization. Born on February 27, 1965 in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter Carol Chiappinelli and the late Edmund Lankowski.
Alicia was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School and Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Special Education. She worked in the West Haven School system and various area Group Homes. Alicia loved being a part of the Camp Happiness family as a Music Specialist. She supported Special Needs Children and their families whenever she could, cheering and coaching Special Olympics; even convincing several members to do an annual Penguin Plunge to raise money for that important organization.
Alicia was a former member of St. Gabriel’s Folk group and the Irish Heritage Society of Milford. She enjoyed Karaoke, Renn Faires and craft projects. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Alicia was never stronger than when fighting cancer almost 16 years ago and never happier then when she was entertaining children.
Alicia is survived by mother, Carol Chiappinelli; sisters, Ellen Wissner and Frances Breban; stepmother, Gloria Lankowski and her sons, Keith Davenport and Scott Peretzman; nieces, Mallery Breban, Abby and Gloria Davenport, Alyssa and Alana Peretzeman; and nephews, Benjamin Croll, Benjamin Wissner, Alexander and Matthew Lankowski, Jack Davenport Jr. and Jack Davenport III.

Nicholas Achilles Haskos
Nicholas Achilles Haskos, 59, of Orange, CT, passed away suddenly, May 1, 2022. He was the husband of the late Andronike “Andrea” Havaranis Haskos. Nick was born in New Haven, son of Achilles “Bill” and Helen Karajanis Haskos. He was the loving father of Eleni Haskos. He was also predeceased by his sister, Kathryn Haskos Barry.

Evelyn Fisher Hendricks
Evelyn Fisher Hendricks, 90, of Milford, Connecticut, beloved wife of the late Bruce William Hendricks Jr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Born on July 28, 1931 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Harold Holton Fisher and Irene Rose Pruckner.
Evelyn lived in Stratford through her school age years. She was a graduate of Stratford High School. After attending College, her career started as a loving mother and homemaker. She was an exceptional seamstress in sewing clothes and assisting neighbors with their needs for mending, altering, and hemming articles of clothing. Evelyn then worked as an EKG/EEG technician, employed by Milford Hospital for many years. Evelyn always looked forward and enjoyed volunteering on Election Day in Milford, accompanied by her husband, Bruce. She volunteered yearly for the American Heart Association, collecting contributions. Evelyn was also involved with the Girl Scouts with her daughters. For many years, Evelyn and Bruce belonged to Connecticut Singletons Square Dance Club. They enjoyed their weekends square dancing and socializing with their friends. Every summer Evelyn hosted a large “July Birthday Celebration Picnic” for the many July birthdays of her family and friends. Evelyn always had a love for birds, especially Cardinals. She enjoyed her gardening, with many flowers. Evelyn and Bruce always enjoyed their road trip vacations. Several favorite pastimes that Evelyn enjoyed were watching old movies, completing puzzles with her caregivers, and making holiday cookies for everyone to enjoy.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Patricia Maxwell Stokes and her fiancé Joseph Garcia Jr; stepdaughter, Paige Hendricks Ransford and her husband Larry; daughter-in-law, Thérèse Maxwell; daughter, Pamela Maxwell Kenney and her husband William; sister-in-law, Arlene Ollayos; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, extended family and friends.
Evelyn was predeceased by a brother, William Harold Fisher; a son, Clifford Erle Maxwell; and a brother-in-law, Bill Ollayos.
A special everlasting thank you to Esty and her family for having a wonderful lifetime close friendship with Evelyn and her family. Also a heartfelt thank you to her many caregivers who became a genuine part of her family.

William M. Horlacher
Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late William and Stella (Novicki) Horlacher. He was a skilled electrician who worked for Novicki Electric for many years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sisters Teddi Diana of Meriden, and Susan (Frank) Benedetto of Bethany, his son, William Horlacher of Meriden, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Billy enjoyed trips to Cape Cod, fishing, local happy hours and spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Molly. His memorable walk and personality (Hey now!) has left footprints in the hearts of all of those who’ve met him. He will truly be missed.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th at Saint Aedan’s Church in New Haven.

Lorraine Mary Janosko
Lorraine Mary Janosko, 66, of Milford, beloved wife of Gerald John Janosko, peacefully passed away from a long battle with pneumonia on May 2, 2022. Born on July 17, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Dilorenzo) Naylor.
Lorraine (Lori) grew up in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Bridgeport, CT. She worked odd jobs until she settled in at Santa Fuel for several years. At age 18, she met the love of her life Jerry and they married in 1980. They had two children, her daughter was unintentionally born at home with the help of EMT’s and fire chief, Bo Hyatt. She was proud to be involved with their activities, including Girl Scouts where she was Scout leader. She never missed a sporting event for either child as she was their biggest fan. Even as adults she went to all her daughter’s football games and drove her son to the train station every morning for work. After leaving Santa Fuel, she ran her own business with lifelong friend Julie Matyasovsky. She continued that path by having ownership in a tanning salon, Sunburst in Milford, CT, where her daughter worked with her. That is where her incredible talents to be a manager were noticed by a customer who offered her a job as a manager of a new cellphone company. This is where Lori really flourished until she fell at age 55 and was forced to retire due to chronic pain.
After retiring, Lori focused all her efforts on taking care of her mother with Alzheimer’s for over five years and her father with Parkinson’s who lived in an in-law set up at their home. Her brother Tommy also joined in the loving efforts of taking care by moving in as well. After their passing, she enjoyed going for long rides by the beach with her son. Lori was a woman who gave everything she had; everyone called her “Mama J” because anyone could go to her for help or advice. Often her children would come home to find friends already there just to visit with her. She was certified in Reiki and was an empathic energy healer; despite not requiring tools. She was also a fluent tarot card reader. She will be deeply missed by her husband and two children who during her one-year battle took care of her and tried to repay all the kindness she had shown them her entire life. She fought until the end, impressing her doctors and nurses with her unmatched willpower.
In addition to her beloved husband, Lori is survived by her children, Gerald Joseph Janosko and Christine and husband David Abel; brother Thomas Naylor; sister-in-law Elaine Gallant and partner Stephen Witter; brothers-in-law Paul Janosko and wife Nikki; Richard Janosko, and Max Tomayko: aunts Marge Janovich and Helen Marusa, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her special dog Kelly.

She was incredibly devoted to her family and was a wonderful and loving mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed terribly and loved always.
Irene leaves behind her daughter, Cheryl (Jozsef) Szogedi, grandchildren, Kimberly Szogedi, Scot (Laurie) Szogedi, Jozsef (Rita) Szogedi and her great-grandchildren, Alexander, Cora and Lucy Szogedi, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Akile Kareco, beloved husband of Ksanthipi Lito Kareco passed away May 10, 2022 in CT Hospice. He was born in Gjirokaster, Albania April 6, 1928, a son of the late Thoma and Alexsandra Qendro Kareco.

Akile worked for most of his life as a livestock veterinarian at different farms and spent the last ten years of his employment at Tirana’s Town Hall as the town’s specialist of farming and agriculture.

Sharon Longobricco, 50, of Milford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Born on April 13, 1972 in Norwalk, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Vincent Longobricco and Susan Kuhaur.
Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She participated in many hobbies. Some of her favorites were spending time on the water in her kayak and collecting rocks at any beach or just about anywhere. She enjoyed planting vegetables in her garden, spending time with her cats and going to concerts with friends.
She leaves behind many friends and family. Her father, Vincent Longobricco; her mother, Susan Kuhar Longobricco; her sister, Stacy Longobricco; and her daughters, Hayley Simard, Jaiden Meyer and Miranda Meyer.

William J. McDonough
William J. McDonough, 85, of Orange, beloved husband of Joanne (Alpers) McDonough, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2022. Born on December 16, 1936 in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late William J. and Bessie Mary (Reid) McDonough.
Bill was an active sailor from young on. His love of sailing took him to start a sailboat sales yard in Norwalk, CT. Bill sailed out of Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport, CT. for many years. He looked forward to Block Island Race Week where he won 1st place in his sailing division.
In addition to his beloved wife, Bill is survived by his children, William J. (Tammy) McDonough and Michael McDonough; his grandchildren, Dakota, Tristan, Keegan, and Saige; his nieces, Emily Shuffstall, and Amy Nurmberg. He was predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Schuffstall and Helen Sennett.

Joseph P. Neeley, Jr.
Joseph P. Neeley, Jr., 81, of Milford, CT, passed away on May 23, 2022, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Joe was born on April 5, 1941 in Bridgeport, CT. He was son of the late Joseph and Helen Neeley. Joe was a graduate of Bassick High School 1959 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force enlisting in 1959. Joe is survived by his brother, Dennis J. Neeley and Dennis’s wife, Kathy Neeley. Joe also has many nieces and nephews. Carol Olexovitch
Carol Olexovitch, age 78, beloved wife of 58 years to John “Jack” Olexovitch entered peaceful rest on May 17, 2022 at CT Hospice in Branford with her husband by her side.
She was the daughter of the late Edward and Verna (Murphy) Mitola and was born on December 27, 1943 in Bridgeport. Mrs. Olexovitch was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years in area nursing homes including Milford Health Care and Golden Hill before her retirement.
During her retirement Carol enjoyed “Wintering” in Florida with her husband. She loved reading Thrillers by the pool and gazebo. Carol loved her porch and her Saturday evening out with Jack. She also enjoyed visiting NYC for a Broadway show and the Diamond District. She had a special relationship with each of her children and grandchildren. She never lost her unique sense of humor, that’s what made her “Carol” “Mom” and “Grammie.”
In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, John “Jack” and his fiancé, Tricia Haviland of Milford, Scott and his wife, Susanne of Milford and Beth Acevedo and her husband, Javier of East Haven and three grandsons, John “Jack” (Chelsea), Jason and Joseph and a great granddaughter, Brooke Rylee. She also leaves her brother, Edward Mitola and his wife Joan of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews.

John “Flash” Peregrim
PEREGRIM John “Flash”, age 99, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Frances Bonavitch Peregrim, died Thursday, May 12, 2022. Mr. Peregrim was born in Olyphant, Pa., June 9, 1922 to the late George and Melania Biscoe Peregrim, who were immigrants from the village of Czarna, Poland. Mr. Peregrim was a Milford resident for 75 years. He was a proud World War II U.S. Army veteran serving in the 29th Division, 300th Infantry which took part in the First Wave of the Normandy Invasion on Omaha Beach. During the war he was captured by the Germans and put into a POW camp, managing to escape after being imprisoned for nine months. He was decorated much later with the French Medal of Honor at West Point May 9, 2014. Mr. Peregrim was retired from Remington Arms where he was employed for 40 + years as a tool maker and grinder. He also was president of the Remington Arms Sportsman’s Dinner and Remington Arms Bowling Tournament Club for 4 years while employed. Mr. Peregrim was well loved by family and friends and he loved travelling to many places in the U.S and Europe with his wife. Survivors include two sons, Kevin Peregrim and David Peregrim and his wife, Jo-Anne, and children, David James of Newtown (wife Kerri), and Danielle of Wallingford (fiance’ Ed Sinclair). Great grandchildren include Nathan Richard Sinclair 8 years old of Wallingford and Wesley James Peregrim 1 year old of Newtown. Mr. Peregrim was predeceased by two brothers, Philip Peregmon Sr. and Frank Peregrim Sr.; and by sisters, Anna Mackey, Sophie Peregrim and Lubov Peregrim. Dolores Ann Peters, age 78, of Milford, passed away on May 20, 2022, in Bridgeport Hospital.
Dolores was born in Bridgeport on August 7, 1943, to the late Walter and Veronica (Kopac) Polaski and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Harding High School and was retired from the Accounts Payable Department at ADT.

Robert P. Petrucelli, Sr.
Robert P. Petrucelli, Sr., age 90, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 14, 2022 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Carmela (Fellows) Petrucelli. Born in Bridgeport on May 12, 1932, he was a son of the late Peter and Lena (D’Elia) Petrucelli. Mr. Petrucelli served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the Bridgeport Post as a linotype operator for over 20 years and he worked at the Milford Citizen before his retirement. He was involved with the Milford Little League for decades; besides baseball, he loved golfing, classical music, his daily cigar and crossword puzzle, his wife’s cooking, spending time with family and his many canine companions. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Carmela, he is survived by his loving children, Robert Petrucelli, Jr. and his wife Mary Shropshire of West Haven, Mark Petrucelli of Milford, Tammy Petrucelli and her spouse Susan Brown of West Haven, Jamie Petrucelli and his wife Karen of Milford, his two cherished grandchildren, Julianna Petrucelli and Christopher Petrucelli, as well as several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Glenn Powell
Glenn Powell, 98, of Milford, passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2022, three days prior to his 99th birthday. He was born in Scranton, PA on May 16, 1923 to the late Reese Benjamin Powell and Jenny (Franklyn) Powell. Glenn left Scranton for NYC where he joined the US Navy and served honorably during WWII from 1942-1948. When he returned from war, Glenn worked for the United Nations and then moved upstate to Westchester County, NY where he started his own business, Highland Sheet Metal.
While serving in the Navy, Glenn married the love of his life, Eileen (Murphy) Powell, and they spent 58 wonderful years together, splitting their time between NY and Milford, CT. Upon retirement they moved full time to Milford where Glenn quickly, and affectionately, became known as the “Mayor of Point Beach” as he was always around to help his friends and neighbors with projects or join them on the beach end for a sunset bourbon and chat.
While in Milford, Glenn, an avid fisherman, co-founded the Milford Sport Fisherman Association. One event he looked forward to every year was taking the children from Boys and Girls Village out on the Long Island Sound to teach them how to fish.
Glenn will be remembered lovingly by his children; Patti (Frank) Carr of Southport, NC, Nancy Scherer of Martinez, GA, Peggy (Bob) Larsson of Milford, CT, and Tom (Cathy) Powell of Southbury, CT; grandchildren; Chris, Meghan (Tim Gray), and Brian (Ashley) Carr; Sarah Larsson (Michael Crowley); Amanda Scherer; Glenn (Maureen), Julia, and Emily Powell; great grandchildren; Ethan, Shane, and Cami Carr and James Crowley; and extended family & friends. Thomas Joseph Raynor Sr.
Thomas Joseph Raynor Sr., age 71 of Milford, beloved husband of Janet Ettorre Raynor for 46 years, died at home on Friday, May 27, 2022 surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Bridgeport on February 21, 1951, to the late Thomas Gilbert and Shirley Davis Raynor. He was a proud US Marine Veteran and was a systems analyst at Burndy Corporation for many years. He loved to watch football and baseball and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his children: Laura Sperduti (Anthony) and Thomas J. Raynor Jr. (Katherine) both of Milford, siblings; John Raynor (Linda Romine) of New Albany, IN, Michael Raynor (Kathleen) of Stratford and sister, Ann Henry (Brendan) of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Kathleen A. Romano
Kathleen A. Romano age 80 of Melbourne Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Kathy was born on September 18, 1941, in Bridgeport to the late Arthur Horney and Catherine (Horney) Hansen. She was a graduate of Milford High School. Before retiring she was an inspector for the Norwalk Housing Authority. Kathy was a long-time resident of Milford until she moved to Melbourne Florida with her late husband, Frank Romano. They both enjoyed many years in their retirement community in Melbourne.
Ms. Romano is survived by her daughter Kim McGovern (Tom) of Palm Bay, Florida, Her grandchildren Annalee Greco of Milford, Frank Greco IV of Stamford, her brother Arthur Harney (Joyce) of Stratford, her sister Lynn Jones of Milford, stepdaughter Sharon Williams of Leesburg, Florida, several nieces and nephews, and several step grandchildren. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Frank Romano.

Ronald Joseph Sader
Ronald Joseph Sader, 88, of Milford, beloved companion of Patricia Gabrielli, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2022. Born on January 30, 1934 in Seymour, CT he was the son of the late George and Isabelle Sader.
Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army and Air Force. Following his discharge, he enrolled in Bryant College and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Ron started his career at the accounting firm of Bailey, Moore, and Glazer in 1960. In 1964, he went to work for The Schiavone Family for the next 53 years at various companies, including; Your Fathers Mustache, Schiavone Chase, and Michael Schiavone and Sons. Ron enjoyed his Saturday lunches with the boys and was always the life of the party. He and Pat loved traveling and took several trips to Europe and the Caribbean. He always looked forward to his time on Peaks Island, Maine with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his loving companion, Pat, Ron is survived by his children, Elizabeth “Lisa” Sader of Waterford, CT, Robert J. Sader of Groton, CT, and Gregory (Karyn) Sader of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Charles Goede, and Holly, Merilee, Caden, and Graham Sader; his sister, Diane George; and his former spouse, Elizabeth Wassoleck. Ron was predeceased by his son-in-law, Douglas Goede, Jr., and siblings, George. Lorraine, and Robert.

Josephine A. Serini, age 89, of Milford, beloved wife of Rudolph “Rudy” Serini of 64 years, died at home on Friday, May 6, 2022. Josephine was born in Milford on June 14, 1932, to the late Cosimo (Samuel) and Antonina (Lena) Guglielmino (Williams). Josephine worked at Wayside Furniture for over 35 years.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her children: Joanne Youd (Doug) of West Haven and Mary Jane Hoyt (Gil) of Milford, five grandchildren, Melissa and Cindy Youd, Kristy Curley (Ryan), Cara Hoyt (Joey) and Samantha Hoyt, two great-grandchildren; Logan Kendzierski and Hayley Curley, sister, Mary Ann Raynor (Richard) of FL, sisters-in-law; Christine Campagna and Jeanne Campagna both of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Paula Joanne Shiff Shemitz
Paula Joanne Shiff Shemitz was born July 27, 1931 to Phillip and Harriet Shiff in New Haven, Connecticut. She died Friday, May 20, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her family at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was 90 years old. Paula was a product of New Haven Public Schools and the Day School, from which she graduated in 1948. Thereafter, she attended Smith College and graduated in 1952 with a degree in American Studies, which remained an abiding interest throughout her life.
In 1953 she married Sylvan Shemitz, also of New Haven, and moved to Woodbridge, where she continued to live until her death. Raising a family and supporting the growth of the lighting design and manufacturing businesses created by Sylvan was the focus of her life, but she also had a successful career. From 1953 to 1956 Paula served as a social worker with the Department of Social Services in New Haven, an occupation that had a profound impact on her. After leaving social work, she participated in numerous volunteer activities, never seeking the spotlight or any leadership position, but working diligently to serve the underserved. One of her favorite projects was the “Art Goes to School” program in the New Haven Public Schools, where she had a chance to bring her love of art and American history to children. While studying for a masters’ degree in Library Science at Southern Connecticut State College, she volunteered as a children’s librarian in the Woodbridge Public Library, where she later became the head librarian.
After leaving that post, Paula joined the New Haven Free Public Library system. She worked as a librarian at different branches around the city for a number of years, finally moving to the Main Library to take a position as head of public relations. In that capacity, she organized many public outreach programs and projects for both adults and children. Most notable of these was the bi-centennial quilt project she organized for the library, bringing volunteer quilters together to learn about quilting and create a community bi-centennial memory in the form of a quilt that still hangs in the Main Library.
Soon after retiring from the library, Paula joined Sylvan’s firm, Sylvan R. Shemitz Designs, as the human resources officer until her retirement in 2006.
Throughout her married life, Paula delighted in sailing with her husband on their sloop, the Light Fantastic, on which they explored the entire Eastern seaboard from Nova Scotia to Bermuda, meeting people and making fast friends along the way.
Paula is survived by her three daughters, Julie Jane Shemitz, of Los Angeles, California, Elizabeth Deane Shemitz-Smith, of Woodbridge, Connecticut, and Allison Kate Schieffelin, of New Haven and Nantucket, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Charlotte Anna Shemitz-Smith and James “Ace” Evan Smith, of Woodbridge; and her brother, the Honorable Alan H.W. Shiff (ret’d.), of Bethesda, Maryland, and Nantucket, Massachusetts.
Funeral services will be held in person on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel at Congregation B’nai Jacob, 75 Rimmon Road, Woodbridge, Connecticut 06525. Stephanie worked as a Clinical Revenue Management Specialist for the Yale New Haven Health system. She held both a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration. She was an attendee of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Woodbridge, CT.
Stephanie was an extraordinarily hard worker, with a determination few others could match. Those who knew her would describe her as smart, articulate, thoughtful, assertive, and kind. She was passionate about those she held dear: friends, family, and most of all her children, whom she lived for. Among her numerous hobbies, she was a fantastic cook, staunch education advocate, cat lover, fitness enthusiast, sports fan, and avid reader. She will be deeply missed, yet even more so celebrated, by any and all who knew her.
Dorothy E. Sylvester
Dorothy E. Sylvester, 91, of Milford, CT, left this world for her next adventure on May 6. Her motto has always been “live well, laugh often, love much,” a phrase that describes the passion with which she lived her life.
Born on July 26, 1930, in Central Falls, R.I., Dorothy spent the first 65 years of her life in Rhode Island — most recently, Pascoag — before moving to Milford, CT. A loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dorothy always found a way to make people feel special: as a short-order cook at Serio’s Pizzarama in Pascoag for nearly 30 years, she had regular customers who would only dine on the nights when she was cooking; more recently, she’d write down pages of jokes to share with her Milford friends on their annual trips to the Salvation Army Camps, Ladore in Pennsylvania and CONNRI in northeast Connecticut.
Dorothy has many loved ones waiting to welcome her in her next life: her husband, Ernest; her son, Edmund; her grandson, Eric; and her great grandson, Tyler. In addition, she will join her parents Dorothy and Robert; sister, Hazel; and brothers Donald, Gordon, Robert and John. She also has many friends waiting to share a laugh with her, among them Flo, Ginger, Bud, Barbara and Lou. She leaves a legacy of love in this world as well: her son, Kevin; daughter-in-law, Linda; grandchildren Tracy, Kate and James; great grandchildren Cody and Kira; great-great grandchildren Cole and Addie; brother, Walter; sister, Carolyn; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends she made over the years. A special thanks to the staff at Seacrest Retirement Center, in West Haven, CT, and Milford Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Milford, CT, for providing compassionate, loving care later in her life.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, May 11, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a short service to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Gregory F. JoAnn Tutino
JoAnn Tutino, 73, of Orange, beloved wife of Michael Tutino Sr. passed away at home surrounded by her family on Monday May 23, 2022. Born on June 12, 1948 in New Haven she was the daughter of the late Paul and Christine Kalaha. JoAnn was the school secretary first for St. Brendan’s School, and later St. Aedan’s School, both in New Haven for 30 years.
She enjoyed summer visits to Cape Cod, and treasured the memories of her once-in-a-lifetime trip to Italy in 2017. She loved the Boston Red Sox and absolutely adored her Siberian Huskies, Nikita, Chyna and Tasha.
She is survived by her husband Michael, her son Michael Jr., his wife Erica; her son Jamie, his wife Betty; her sister Paula Kalaha and her cherished grandson Evan.
She is now reunited with her angel daughter, JoAnn Elizabeth.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Aedan-Brendan Church, 112 Fountain Street in New Haven.

Louella Unnever
Louella Unnever, 79, formerly of Stamford and Milford, beloved wife of the late Matthew Unnever, passed away on May 3, 2022. Born on July 11, 1942 in Harlem, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Inzitari) Iodice.
After graduating from beauty school, Louella worked as a hairstylist for many years, proudly becoming a successful salon owner (Unisex Palace) with her sisters. Louella and her husband, Matt purchased their beach house condo in Florida where they enjoyed many winters together as snowbirds. Louella cherished her time spent with her family and friends, venturing to Florida cruising the Caribbean, and enjoying trips to the casino. Louella will be tremendously missed. She will always be with us and forever in our hearts. She and Matthew are united again, to spend paradise together, forever.
Louella is survived by her children, Danielle and Joseph Samuel Unnever; her grandchildren, Tianna, Kayla, Anthony, and Maliyah; her great granddaughter, Liliana; and her many nieces and nephews, including Doreen, with whom she was very close. Louella was predeceased by her sisters Frances Giordano and Rena Plank Rahgo.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:30 at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Interment will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery. Christine Elisabeth Lorenz Varholak
Christine (Chrissy) Elisabeth Lorenz Varholak, age 50, of Orange, Connecticut, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on May 23, 2022. She was a devoted wife and loving mother of three amazing children; beloved daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, and aunt to her loving family in Texas and Connecticut, and a treasured friend to countless people whose lives she touched throughout her beautiful life’s journey. Chrissy was known for her zeal for life, her strength and determination to meet life’s challenges, her devotion to God, her incredibly positive attitude and her beautiful smile that inspired all who knew her.
Chrissy was born in Oceanside, New York, April 12, 1972, the daughter of Elisabeth (Graham) Lorenz and Robert Lorenz, Sr. Her legacy lives on through the lives of her husband of 25 years, Mark Varholak, and their three children, Colton, Anna and Ellery Varholak of Orange, Connecticut; her mother, Elisabeth (Betty) Lorenz of Longview, Texas; her brother Robert (Bob) Lorenz, Jr., his wife, Lori, and their children Olivia and Samuel Lorenz of Longview, Texas; and Father-in Law and Mother-in Law, Stephen and Judith Varholak of Milford, Connecticut. Chrissy is predeceased by her father Robert Lorenz, Sr. who we take comfort in knowing has been reunited with his baby girl.
In 1978, Chrissy’s family moved from New York to Longview, Texas. She attended Longview High School where she made many life-long friends and was known for her spunk and vibrant personality. After graduation, Chrissy set her sights north and attended the Pennsylvania State University, in State College, Pennsylvania. This is where she met Mark, the love of her life. After graduation, the two were married on August 10, 1996, at Orange Congregational Church, Orange, Connecticut.
After receiving her degree from Penn State in Advertising, Chrissy later realized her passion for teaching. Chrissy taught students at multiple grade levels but was never happier than when she became a kindergarten teacher at Mary L. Tracy School, in Orange, Connecticut. Her students brought so much joy to her life, and she made an immeasurable positive impact on numerous children and parents throughout her career. In addition to her teaching career, Chrissy was an active member of the Orange Congregational Church where she participated in the Handbell Choir, Christian Service & Outreach Board, Abraham’s Tent, the Cookbook Committee, and the creation of a children’s Chime Choir. In her spare time, Chrissy and her family enjoyed trips to Texas and the beaches of North Carolina, but her true “happy place” was and forever will be the state of New Hampshire where she enjoyed hiking, kayaking, river tubing, snowshoeing, long drives with stops for ice cream, stargazing, shopping in quaint towns, countless trips to Santa’s Village and hunting lupines, foliage, and the Northern Lights!
Through these last 10 years, Chrissy found solace and support through unbelievably kind and compassionate medical personnel. Our family extends special gratitude for the friendship and medical attention given to Chrissy throughout her journey. A heartfelt thank you to Chrissy’s Angels at the offices of Dr. Neal Fischbach and Dr. Nicholas Blondin, the amazing team at Grimes Center, her friends at Smilow Radiation Oncology, the hospice nurses who provided amazing care for Chrissy, and countless others who she encountered along the way.
A Memorial Service will be held at Orange Congregational Church, Meetinghouse Road, Orange, Connecticut on May 31st, at 2pm. Mrs. Voloshin leaves her children, Linda, Glenn, Kurt and Karen, grandchildren Jessica, Christopher, Matthew, and Yessie, and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Sean, Corey, Addie, and Ethan. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Voloshin was predeceased by her son, Paul Voloshin and sister, Marie Dillon.

Pamela Hope Williston
Pamela “P” Hope Williston, 70, of Milford, beloved wife of 42 years to Larry Williston, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2022. Born on March 21, 1952 in Seymour, CT she was the daughter of the late Jay and Dorothy (Peck) LaBelle.
Pam served as a tax clerk for the town of Stratford for 20 years.
In addition to her loving husband, Pam is survived by her son, Jason (Haley Bloszko) Williston; her granddaughter, Presley; her brother, Wayne LaBelle; siblings-in-law, Mike (Sue) Williston, Everett (Liz) Williston, and Gladys Williston; “sister” Mary Mitchell; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Robyn), Dana (J.J.), Sean (Lauren), Josh (Jess), Alyssa (Mike), and Molly (Mark); cousin, Cindy (Vinny) Tonucci; and many extended family members. Pam was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Bonnie.

Walter L. Wolog
Walter L. Wolog, age 96, of Orange, a retired Mechanical Engineer and project manager with Pitney Bowes, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, to the late Lev and Ekaterina (Kamensky) Wologodzew, Walter survived World War II, and immigrated to the United States in 1957. He was the widower of Natalia Fedorov and Inna Golub. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Maria Wolog Peavy and her husband Leopold Peavy III (Dexter) of Woodbridge, his cherished grandchildren, Leopold IV (LP), Natasha, George, and Katherine Peavy. He is survived by his twin brother, Leo Wologodzew and wife Marina, of Shelton, and his niece Cathy Grace and nephew Alexander Wologodzew, and many grand nieces and nephews. Other survivors include his step daughters, Helen Rose and her husband Efraim Sagiv of Orange, and Olga Golub and her husband Ilya Gorelik of Weston, MA; his step grandchildren, Julia Begun, Matthew Gorelik and wife Amanda Hobson and Isaac Gorelik.
Walter was an active parishioner at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Stratford for sixty years and served on the church council, holding positions as treasurer and church warden. Walter was a devotee of square dancing, exercise, hiking, skiing, and was a rated chess player who played in many tournaments. He held many patents during his time with Pitney Bowes.
Friends may call on Monday, May 16th from 4-6 pm in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Pannikhida will take place at 7:00 pm in St Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 1 Honeyspot Rd, Stratford. Divine Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, May 17th at 8:00 am, with a Requiem Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Novo-Diveevo in Spring Valley NY.
