Jeffrey Mark Casceillo
Jeffrey Mark Casceillo, 44, of Milford, passed unexpectedly on June 12, leaving his family devastated. Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Emily Sampara, and stepson, Seth Baker. In addition to his beloved wife, Emily of 18 years, Jeffrey is also survived by his father, David Casceillo, stepmother, Jean Casceillo, one sister, Jaime Hillman, one niece, Kaitlyn Reed, maternal grandfather, James F. Shea, two step brothers, John Pfeiffer and Clint Pfeiffer and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who are heartbroken beyond words, and a great number of friends who will all miss him dearly. Jeffrey is predeceased by his mother, Joan Marie Shea, paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Theresa Casceillo, maternal grandmother, Josephine Shea and one step-sister, Kristin Pfeiffer. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 9:30 AM in St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford, where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Peter Adamski. Joy Adley Carloni
Joy was born in Bridgeport, CT on November 8th, 1932, to Yolanda and Daniel Adley. She loved dancing and began lessons at age three. In her prime, Joy performed before the dancing masters of America in New York City. She became an assistant teacher to noted Madame Annette, who would have liked Joy to take over the dance studio, but Joy instead chose to go to college. She met the love of her life, Ralph, when she was nineteen years old. They were married in 1955 and were together for 57 years before Ralph’s death. Joy taught elementary school in Woodbridge and was a volunteer in the emergency room of the Hospital of Saint Raphael, as well as an officer and member of the board of the hospital’s Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed participating in St. Raphael’s talent show each year. Joy was also an original and active member of Boys and Girls Village, serving as secretary and receiving recognition from BGV with a lifetime achievement award. She spent many hours at the piano, filling her home with music. She also enjoyed playing solitaire, tennis, and golf and was a member of Racebrook Country Club for over 40 years, where she and her husband made many long-time friends. Joy and Ralph loved traveling, especially taking their grandchildren to Disney World. She was a consummate fashionista, always turned out in style. In her latest years, she loved lunches with friends, crossword puzzles, and visiting with her great-grandchildren. She was blessed to have compassionate and loving care for many years from Isabel Estrada and, prior to her death, from daily caregivers, Yan and Shauna, and many others from Connecticut Hospice of Branford.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening from 4:00-6:00 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place, in New Haven. A Catholic service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Jayden Chetlen
Jayden Chetlen, 21, of Milford, passed away on June 7, 2024. Born on January 12, 2003 in Milford, CT, he was the son of Cristen Chetlen.
Jayden attended Jonathan Law High School and was an enthusiastic member of the high school choir. They loved to cook and were attending Culinary School at Gateway Community College with the intention of pursuing culinary education. They loved anime and cosplay and were known to attend events like Conneticon. They were a huge fan of Broadway, traveling with his loved ones to see shows and musicals. An accomplished artist, Jayden excelled at painting, sketching and drawing. They also had a deep love of video games, especially GenShin, Sky Rim, and Kingdom Hearts. Jayden could be found taking over the television with their friends much to the chagrin of their mother (whom they attempted to teach the games many times to no avail).
A very important part of Jayden’s life was that they identified as non-binary. Their pronouns were they/them and he/him. They were in the process of transitioning for several years, showing their Pride for who they were and supporting others on a similar journey. They are survived by their partner Aedan who lit up their world.
Jayden is survived by their mother, Cristen Chetlen, brother Christian Lima and sister Lena Morris. Uncles Jonathan Chetlen and Joseph “Grimm” Berger, cousin Allyah Chetlen, stepfather Rich Lohrenz. As well as grandparents, aunts, and uncles. They are also survived by their cat Dina and dogs Rocket and Groot.

Denise Arlene morris Curt
Denise morris Curt, age 88, of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Bertrand and Anna (Fiak) Rocheleau.
Born in New Haven on November 15, 1935, she was a resident of Milford for sixty-six years.
Denise’s memory will be cherished by her dear sister, Diane Smith (Noel) of Florida; her loving companion of many years, Dorsey Gibbs; son, Tyler Morris (Cynthia); daughter Cynthia Bell (Christopher); grandchildren Crystal Bell (Ryan Delgado); Kaitlin Erskine (Keith); Darcy Cruz (Frankie); Michael Oswald (Lindsay); Julianne Oswald (Michael McLaren); great-grandchildren, Aden and Ava; Carter, Autumn and Lainey; Emma and Luke; her nieces and nephews, and many long-time friends and art collectors.
She was a woman of many passions including art, antiques, classical music, photography, travel, fashion design, and interior decorating. She shared her love of books as a volunteer reading to children at the library, entertaining them with her dramatic storytelling. She was best known as an artist, the “Connecticut Limner”, and founder/creator of the Meet the Artists and Artisans, a juried art show she ran on the Milford Green, Mystic, and shoreline towns, for almost 50 years. Her beloved “Angel Bower” studio, a pink 1798 former carriage house in the center of Milford, is where her well-known paintings on violins and cellos were created. Denise was once quoted in one of the publications showcasing her work, “the most important thing in the world is to bring beauty into people’s lives, to make them aware of beauty, to make them aware of beauty within themselves.”
Denise was known for her vibrant social life, her keen appreciation for color and flair, her zest for living life to the fullest, and for her infectious laughter.
The family extends a special note of gratitude to the ICU and Hospice staff at Bridgeport Hospital, and the staff at the Bridges by EPOCH in Trumbull, for their kind and exceptional care during her final days.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 8th from 10:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home in Milford, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. -12:00 noon. Interment will be private.

Jamie Lee Davidson
Jamie Lee Davidson, age 70, of Milford, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 2, 2024 after complications with cardiac surgery.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Jamie Davidson was the daughter of the late James and Marion Breen Davidson. She was the devoted mother of Frank Landino Jr. and his wife Katie and Jason Landino and his wife Allison. Loving grandmother of Valentina, Frank, Joseph, and Mason. She is also survived by her siblings Cathy, Paula, James, and Matthew, and their families.
She graduated from Quinnipiac University and was a registered nurse, practicing in various settings ranging from oncology to maternity to geriatrics. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother. She cherished her time spent with her sons and their families, as well as with her friends. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Boston Bruins, crafting, knitting, and reading. Jamie was loved by all who had the good fortune of knowing her; she will truly be missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 7th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cody White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT. Francis Mario Gargiulo
Francis “Frank” Mario Gargiulo Sr., 83, of Milford, beloved husband of Carmella “Carmie” Cusmano Gargiulo, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on June 5, 2024 after his long battle with dementia. He was born on August 27, 1940, in New Haven, CT, and was the son of the late Francis Angelo Gargiulo and Clara Gianini Gargiulo.
Frank proudly served our nation as a United States Marine from 1958 to 1962 where he was stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii and Quantico, Virginia as a Corporal E4, in the Motor Transportation unit. He worked for Ryder Transportation where he was a supervisor and a semi-truck driver for their corrugated division. Frank was an avid baseball card collector, loved refinishing furniture and enjoyed metal detecting when given the chance. He was known for his laughter, his silly jokes and most of all his infectious smile. He made it his life to be a devoted husband, father and Grampy.
In addition to his beloved wife Carmie, he is also survived by their three children: Frank Mario Gargiulo Jr. (Rena), Christine Merenda (Michael), and Jennifer Coretti. Seven grandchildren: Emily, Ashley, Taylor, Fiorella, Abby, Chloe and Elenna, as well as his sister Ann Miron, and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. Frank is predeceased by his siblings; Pat Gargiulo, Charles Gargiulo, and Michele Gardner.

Donald Germaine
Donald lived in the New Haven area his entire life. He met his future bride, Janet Weinstein, through a close friend and he knew when he met her that she would be the love of his life. He attended Hillhouse High School and then the University of Connecticut, graduating in 1955. Janet and Donald were married shortly thereafter on October 30, 1955, and were married for almost 66 years when Janet passed away in 2021. She was truly his best friend in life.
After college, Donald worked in a family business in New Haven, running Kaysey’s Restaurant for many years before he decided to become a CPA and embark on a public accounting career. He worked at several local CPA firms during his long accounting career. He was well-liked and respected by his clients, not only for his business acumen, but also for his kindness and great sense of humor. He once said that his first love was preparing a client’s tax return and he practiced as a CPA, until the age of 85, doing just that.
“Grampy”, as he was affectionately known by his children and grandchildren, was a thoughtful, kind and caring person. He truly enjoyed life, whether it was spending time with Janet, his family or his many friends; playing golf; travelling the world; or just dining out at a good restaurant. He was always willing to treat his family and others to a good time.
Although he was an active participant in sports when he was younger, as he grew older, he loved to attend sporting events with Janet, family and close friends. He was an avid Mets, football Giants and UConn fan. However, his favorite game to play was golf, and his three closest friends comprised his foursome. They played every week when they could and golfed together throughout the world.
Donald was a long-time congregant of Mishkan Israel and was a member of Rabbi Goldberg’s first confirmation class. Attending Shabbat and holiday services brought him peace, and the Rabbi’s sermons were always a source of thoughtful conversation afterwards. One of his greatest joys was having his family gather for Jewish holidays and he especially loved to lead the family Seder.
Donald is survived by a son, Steven Germaine (Alisa), a son, Mark Germaine (Stacey), a daughter, Joanne Germaine (Jules Yasuna), six grandchildren (Jamie (Spenser) Germaine, Haley Germaine, Adam Germaine, Oliver Yasuna, Eli Yasuna, Marina Yasuna), three great-grandchildren (Delaney Germaine, Harrison Germaine and Bradley Yasuna) and his nieces and nephews from Florida whom he loved as his own. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Janet Weinstein Germaine.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Mishkan Israel Cemetery, 701 Whalley Avenue, New Haven, CT, on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 11 a.m.

Marie Gloria Guido
Marie Gloria Guido, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Raymond Patrick Guido Sr., passed away on June 11, 2024, at the remarkable age of 100. Born on June 6, 1924, in Pringle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Rutkowski.
Marie worked for many years as a legal secretary for Attorney William Meuser as well as a medical secretary for Dr. Allen Brandt. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from her love for dancing and singing to her mastery of Polish cooking and seamstress skills. She was best known for standing ground, voicing her opinion, and participating to affect change. Marie was a wonderful mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her family, she was a dedicated friend and community leader serving as past president of the Meadowside PTA, former officer at St. Mary’s Ladies Guild, a member of the Milford Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and Milford Historical Society.
Marie is survived by her children, Alice Guido, Anne Marie Hogan, Raymond Guido, Jr. (Lee), Judith Guido (Jeanine), and Margaret Hawes (Addison); grandchildren, Raymond Guido III (Kristen), Daniel Guido (Lauren), Nicholas Guido, Ella Guido Smith; great grandchildren, Connor, Oliver, Chiara, Zelie and Kolbe Guido; sister Bernadine Pitcavage; special friend Deb Soricelli; and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Madar and daughter-in-law Michele Guido.

Mary L. Hanson
Mary L. Hanson, beloved wife of the late Earle Hanson, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024. Born on May 12, 1934, in West Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Albert Joseph Patry and Helen Granger Patry.
Mary was a devoted and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years, dedicating her time and talents to the life of the church including bake sales, church dinners, holiday fairs, vacation bible school and the altar guild. She was also an esteemed member of the Daughters of the Nile. As the beloved matriarch of her family, Mary treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, providing endless love and support. Holidays were always a joy when she was hosting, from Christmas Eve dinners to her Memorial Day picnics. Mary’s culinary talents shone brightest in her baking, with her renowned “Spritz” cookies and Swedish bread being family favorites. Her legacy of love, kindness, and delicious treats will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Known for her caring nature, she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Mary is survived by her four beloved children: daughter Marie Compare (Gary), son Rick Hanson (Karen), of Milford, son Mark Hanson of West Haven and son John Hanson (Robin) of Elijay,Ga.. Four grandchildren: Brian Compare (Serene), John Hanson (Miguel), David Hanson (Ryan), and Erica Hanson. Two cherished great grandchildren: Natalie Compare and Audrey Compare. As well as many additional beloved family and friends. In addition to her husband, Mary is predeceased by her grandson Michael Compare and brother Albert Patry, whom she joins in heaven.

George Hoppes
George Hoppes of Milford, CT passed away on June 13, 2024 at Yale New Haven Hospital St. Raphael Campus surrounded by his loving family. George was the son of the late Charles Hoppes and Grace (Hurst) Hoppes and was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 10, 1945. Raised in Bridgeport, George graduated from Norwalk State Technical College with a degree in Electronics Engineering.
George proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marines Corp during Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion and Port 5, National Association of Navel Veterans, and was a volunteer at the St. Mary’s food pantry in Milford.
George loved spending time with his family in Vermont, was an avid golfer and loved being near the water. He will be missed by all who knew him, including his wife of 53 years Patricia (Pettinella), his son Michael and his wife Tara of Durham CT, his son Jeffrey and wife Stacey of Wallingford CT and daughter Amy (Smith) and husband Michael of Somers CT. His grandchildren Jacob, Morgan, Grace, Jocelyn, Mackenzie & Liam. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his brother Gary Hoppes and sister-in-law Linda Hoppes.

Sherry Ann (Labertrandie) King
Sherry Ann King, age 57, of Milford, beloved wife of 28 years to Jeff King, entered peaceful rest on June 9, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was born January 28, 1967 in Stamford to Irene (Carson)Thibodeau of Stratford and the late Emery Labertrandie.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sherry King, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, Aunt, and friend. She left us unexpectedly on 6/9/24 leaving a void in our hearts that will never be filled. Sherry was born with the biggest heart, anyone could ever imagine. She touched the lives of everyone she met. Her kindness, generosity and love were the cornerstones of her character. She had a special bond with her dogs who brought her immense joy and compassion. She was passionate about her country, music, and Beastie Boys. She loved riding around, blasting it in her car, and had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley. The melodies of her favorite songs were soundtrack to many happy moments in her life, and she found comfort and delight in the music that she held dear. We cannot forget her favorite drink Arizona iced tea. Her spirit will forever, be remembered, and cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her devoted husband, Jeff and mother, Irene, Sherry will be sadly missed by her son Tyler J. King of Milford; her sister Sheila Lewandowski and husband, Mark of Milford; her brother Emery Labertrandie and his wife Carrie of Ansonia; and her step brothers, Kevin Thibodeau and his wife, Marion and Marc Thibodeau all of Massachusetts, nieces, Autumn, Alyssa and Amber Lewandowski, Melanie Thibodeau nephews, Emery Labertrandie and Jacob Thibodeau and her mother-in-law, Doris King of Southport. Daniel Anthony Lagonigro
Daniel Anthony Lagonigro, 71, of Milford, beloved husband of Noreen (Kelly) Lagonigro, passed away on June 12, 2024. Dan was born in Port Chester, NY to the late William and Antoinette (Cinicollo) Lagonigro.
For thirty years, Dan served as a buyer at Pitney Bowes, where his commitment and hard work left an indelible mark. Dan worked at Drill Masters Eldorado Tool for five years. Known for his quiet demeanor and quick wit, Dan’s love for his family was unwavering.
A voracious reader, Dan found solace and joy in the pages of books, enriching his life with knowledge and imagination. Family was his cornerstone, and he poured his heart into providing for them, ensuring their happiness and security.
In his leisure time, Dan cherished trips to Florida, especially the magical moments spent at Disney with his loved ones. His infectious laughter and clever jokes brought light to every gathering, leaving cherished memories for all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife, Noreen, Dan is survived by his children, John and Shea; his son-in-law Angelo; his grandson, Luca; his sisters, Paula Vincent and Mary Byrne; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Dan was predeceased by his sister, Donna Tartaglia.

Lawrence L. Lanna
Lawrence L. Lanna, 96, of Milford, beloved husband of Gloria (Giarrizzo) Lanna, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born on March 22, 1928, in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Fred and Concetta (Paglia) Lanna.
Larry was affectionately known as “Fred” to close friends and family. He found great delight in hosting summer gatherings, particularly at his famous “liver parties”, and commemorating the Feast of the Assumption at their Miracle in the Water celebration; where laughter, prayer, and camaraderie flowed freely. He and Gloria traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe, but his heart always remained at Silver Sands Beach.
Larry worked tirelessly for many years as a member of a variety of charitable and service-oriented groups throughout Milford, most notably the Milford Columbus Committee, and Milford Kiwanis. His knighthood in the Fraternal Order of St. Ephrem showcased his dedication to fostering community bonds and celebrating heritage. He left an indelible mark on countless lives.
Professionally, Larry was the owner of Fred’s Shoe Store in Milford and the Clog Hut in West Haven. As a member and past president of the Downtown Merchants Association, Larry played a role in the economic vitality of Milford, working with local businesses to create a vibrant downtown atmosphere. Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving as an MP in Germany during the Korean War.
In addition to Gloria, his bride of 59 years, Larry is survived by his daughter Lisa (John) Luersen; grandchildren, Erin and William Luersen; and his great grandchild, Riley; his special niece Claudia Kelly; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, and friends. Larry was predeceased by his siblings, Norma Franco, and Laura Brown.
The family would like to especially thank all the paramedics from the Milford Fire Department for their patience and compassion; along with Larry’s caregivers, including Dr. Celeste Mapas-DiMaya and staff, for their love and dedication.

Rev. Cyriac Maliekal
Father Cyriac Maliekal, 79, was called home to the Lord on June 3, 2024 at his home in Milford, CT. Born on March 3, 1945 in Kerala, India.
Father Cyriac felt a profound call to serve God from an early age, which led him to pursue seminary education and become a dedicated priest. He faithfully served the community of Christ the Redeemer Church in Milford, CT, where he was deeply loved by his parishioners. His gentle spirit and unwavering devotion touched many lives as he passionately conveyed the word of God.
In addition to his ministry, Father Cyriac was known for his kindness, humility, and generosity. He provided spiritual guidance, comfort, and support to countless individuals, leaving an indelible mark on the community. His homilies, rich in wisdom and love, touched the hearts of his parishioners and drew them closer to God.
Father Cyriac, son of Mrs. & Mr. Chandy and Chinnamma Maliekal, is survived by his siblings Mrs. Mary Paul, Mr. M.C. Varkey, Sr. Amalia, Sr. Tresa, Sr. Ajaya, Mr. Sunny, Dr. Benny, Dr. Mathew, and other family members in the United States and India. Father Matthew Vanissery is his uncle.

Sharon Eileen Blawie Swift Mallico passed away unexpectedly June 7, 2024. She was born November 7,
1966 in Bridgeport CT. Sharon grew up in the Laurel Beach section of Milford. She graduated from Jonathan Law High School and was a faithful communicant at St. Gabriel’s in Milford. The eleventh child of the late Paul and Marian Blawie, Sharon’s passing has left a large hole in her extended family, which only she could fill.
Sharon was the mother of Jocelyn Eileen Harjes (Blake), Chelsea Marian Swift (Reggie) and Charles
Daniel Mallico III (Stephanie). She was grandmother to William, Rosalie and Charlie IV.
She was the loving sister of Pamela Blawie, Maribeth Blawie Seraj, Carol Blawie Krause, Paula Blawie
Dressel, Paul Blawie Jr., Barbara Blawie Storvick, Hon. John Blawie, Marian Blawie Healy, Kathleen
Blawie Williams, Lisa Blawie Saley, and Gavin Blawie. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Josephine Perrone
Josie graduated from Hyde Park High School, where she distinguished herself as a talented baton twirler for the marching band. At the age of eighteen, she married Anthony, the love of her life, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Throughout her career, Josie worked diligently at Emery Air freight and Perkin Elmer, balancing her professional responsibilities with the joys of raising her children. Tony and Josie, inseparable soulmates, shared a deep love for travel and the excitement of the casino. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and companionship. Josie’s unwavering devotion was exemplified in her commitment to caring for her husband during his battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She embodied the vows of marriage in sickness and health, providing steadfast support until Anthony’s passing. Known for her culinary prowess, Josie delighted in preparing meals, especially during holidays when she gathered her family around the table. She generously shared her talents by knitting for the homeless and passing on her skills to her granddaughter, creating cherished heirlooms and memories. In her leisure time, Josie found joy in line dancing and leisurely walks on the beach, savoring the beauty of nature and movement. A dedicated sports enthusiast, she enthusiastically followed UConn women’s basketball and passionately supported the Las Vegas Raiders. Josie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.
Arrangements were entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Her formal procession will then depart the funeral home in celebration of her Mass of Christian Burial, beginning at eleven o’clock, in Holy Infant Church of Orange. Mary Anne Shannon
Mary Anne Shannon, 80, of Woodbridge, beloved wife of Eugene Shannon, passed away comfortably on June 12, 2024 after a courageous battle with dementia.
Born on November 13, 1943 in Stamford, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Brown) Daly and stepdaughter of the late John Borsey.
Mary Anne grew up in Stamford, Connecticut with her 7 brothers and was proud to be the first in her family to attend college. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Saint Raphael’s School of Nursing in 1965. Mary Anne served her community as a nurse with Yale Psychiatric Institute for over 20 years. In 1997, she co-founded Shannon’s Fine Art Auctioneers with her husband Gene where she worked until her retirement in 2004. She spent many years volunteering for the American Red Cross as a disaster relief nurse where she selflessly cared for others, while simultaneously making sure her family always came first.
She enjoyed playing Scrabble, traveling, reading, skiing, and playing golf. Mary Anne was known for her gourmet meals and loved having dinner parties. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family at their home in Vermont, particularly her special time with granddaughters Mackenzie and Madison. She will always be remembered by her spontaneity, honesty and her spunky attitude.
In addition to her loving and dedicated husband, Gene, Mary Anne is survived by her devoted daughter, Sandra Germain; son-in law Eric Germain; granddaughters Mackenzie and Madison Germain; siblings Albert Daly, John Borsey, Bill Borsey and Mark Borsey; several nieces, nephews and many loyal friends. Mary Anne was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Robert Daly, Fred Daly and Ronnie Borsey. She was heartbreakingly predeceased by her beloved daughter, Susan Weldon. She was proud to be a “second mom” to Kristen Malone and Suzanne Werth.
Mary Anne’s final gift was her donation to Yale Pathology’s Legacy Tissue Donation Program where researchers and students will be able to gain scientific information that can help people for many years to come.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Masonicare in Wallingford for their extraordinary care and guidance over the past two months.
A celebration of Mary Anne’s life will be held in the near future.

Michael A. Siegman
Michael A. Siegman, 88, of Milford, beloved husband of nearly 64 years to Julia W. Siegman, passed away at his home on June 14, 2024. Born on August 9, 1935, he was the son of the late Orra Leslie and Helen Winnie Siegman.
Michael’s love for life was evident in his many passions. An avid sportsman, he thrived on the water, excelling in swimming, water skiing, and sailing on his beloved sailboat. His zest for winter skiing lasted well into his later years, a testament to his adventurous spirit. Michael’s talents extended beyond sports; he was a skilled musician, mastering the guitar, drums, and piano.
Throughout his life, he pursued diverse careers, contributing his talents to IBM, Milford Application Systems, Candle Corp., and William Raveis Realty. His professional achievements were matched only by his dedication to his family. At St. Luke Church in Westport, he dedicated many years to teaching CCD, leaving an undeniable impact on countless young lives with his warmth and wisdom. His home was a haven of hospitality, where he welcomed friends, exchange students, and anyone in need with open arms. His generous spirit and infectious positivity touched everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Michael was a true citizen of the world, having lived in Paris for three years and traveling to six continents (Antarctica seemed a bit too cold!). His experiences enriched his life and broadened his perspectives. Back home, he enjoyed playing bridge with friends, spending summers at his cherished cabin on Lake Michigan, skiing at his Okemo condo, and hosting gatherings at his waterfront home where his warmth and hospitality shone brightest. He was known as the man who never said no, always ready to lend a hand or share a story over a glass of wine or margarita.
Along with his wife, Michael leaves behind his three sons, Mark Siegman, Jeffrey (Jacinta) Siegman, and Robert Siegman; grandchildren, Erin (Shayann) Siegman Vaezzadeh, Caitlyn Siegman, and Maxwell Siegman; as well as many extended family and lots of good friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Tony and Danny.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish), 70 Gulf St., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Burial will be private. The family is being cared for by the staff at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford.
Growing up, Michael’s family owned a tree farm in Wisconsin which he enjoyed helping to care for as a child; you may plant a tree in honor of him and continue his legacy. Memorial contributions may also be made to either the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Robert Soltes, Sr.
Robert Soltes, Sr., 86, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Joanne (Dion) Soltes, passed away on June 4, 2024. Born on May 19, 1938, in South Norwalk, CT, he was the son of the late James W. and Elizabeth (Takacs) Soltes.
He served his country in the US Navy.
Robert left a legacy of love for his family. He found solace and joy in the simple pleasures, like music, and spending time with his loved ones. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and his newest addition, great grandson Bentley!
He lived in the small beach town of Milford for more than 50 years, where he spent countless hours, in his younger years, fishing right off of the sound and in his fishing boat. Robert had a profound appreciation for good food, particularly seafood, relishing every bite with gusto. Beyond his love for the sea and fine dining, Robert enjoyed the entertainment of watching WWE on television, or playing notes on his portable organ. The loss of his beloved wife was a profound turning point in Robert’s life, prompting him to reevaluate his priorities and embrace each day with renewed vigor and gratitude. He carried her memory in his heart, living not only for himself but for both of them, cherishing every moment, with his beautiful family.
Robert is survived by his sister Beatrice (Henry) Bleggi, his children, Sandra (Scott) Canfield, and Robert (Krista) Soltes, Jr.; grandchildren, Bretton, Kara-Anne, and Kyle Canfield, Jessie, Robert III, Brandon, Nathaniel and Nicholas Soltes, Joanne Ricci, and Justin Soltes; great grandchildren, Marceline, Ramona, and Clark Rosa and Bentley Canfield; and many extended family members. In addition to his wife, Robert was predeceased by his son, Scott Andrew Soltes.

Elizabeth Williams
Elizabeth “Libby” Williams, 71, of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024. Born on November 10, 1952 in Manchester, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Charles and Lorraine Williams.
Libby was a dedicated worker for thirty-two years as a Senior Eligibility Analyst for the Teamsters Local 191. She was a woman of many passions and talents. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden, a place of solace and joy. She never started her day without her beloved Dunkin’ coffee. A creative soul, she was a proud member of the Happy Hookers crochet club, crafting intricate pieces with love and care, and a member of the chorus at the Milford Senior Center.
An adventurous spirit, Libby traveled the world with her dear friends from the senior center, making memories in every corner of the globe. She was an avid card player and loved the camaraderie of a good game of Yahtzee. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at her former residence of Spring Village and Kings in the Corner and participating in exercise class at her current residence of Carriage Green. Libby was an avid reader and loved reading mystery and romance novels.
Libby is a lung cancer survivor. She was also an animal lover and owned several cats whom she loved dearly. She participated for a time as a volunteer for the Stratford Cat Project.
Libby received excellent care from the staff at Bridgeport Hospital, Vitas Hospice, the staff and many aides from Impressive Care Agency, and the staff at Carriage Green toward the end of her life. Her family is eternally grateful.
Libby is survived by her beloved children: Michele Demore and her fiancée Kevin, and son John Demore and his wife Caitlin, two granddaughters: Harper Quinn and Charlotte Elizabeth, as well as her four brothers John (Gail), Fred, David (Kate), and Jeffrey Williams (Holly) and nephews Chase and Carson and nieces Courtney and Noelle.
