Monarch butterflies are on the move to their overwintering grounds in Mexico. Learn about their long journey and much more on Sunday, Sept. 22 at The Connecticut Audubon Society’s Coastal Center at Milford Point.

The class begins indoors with a discovery talk about the importance of milkweed to the monarch’s life cycle, the challenges it faces in an ever-changing world, and what you can do to help. Then the group will head outdoors to search for monarchs in the pollinator garden and around the center grounds.

This program runs rain or shine from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the center, located at 1 Milford Point Rd. in Milford. In the event of inclement weather, alternate indoor activities are planned. It’s appropriate for adults and families with children ages 5 and up. No strollers.

The cost is $7 per person for CAS members and $10 per person for non-members. Pre-registration is required. For more information visit ctaudubon.org/coastal-center-programs-events/. To reserve a spot, call 203-878-7440, x502.
