Milford’s Girl Scouts Summer Camp Open

Summer is here, and parents are looking for a fun, safe environment for their girls. Registration is now open at Camp Katoya in Milford, where girls can make memories to last a lifetime.

Camp Katoya offers fun and challenging activities for all girls in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Operated by Girl Scouts of Connecticut, Camp Katoya is licensed by the State of Connecticut and accredited by the American Camp Association, offering high quality programs, meeting safety standards, and following the best business practices.

At all Girl Scouts day camps, girls can dive deep into nature: hiking, swimming, singing silly songs, building a campfire and roasting some s’mores. Camp Katoya offers traditional camp activities like arts and crafts, environmental education, water games and preparing a meal over an open fire.

Each week at camp, there is a different theme celebrated in all of the camp activities. Girls in grades four and up can try out the archery range and sign up for an optional overnight that occurs every second week throughout the summer.

Each member of the summer camp staff has been carefully screened and chosen for their skills and experience. All staff receive more than 30 hours of training in child development, teambuilding, safety and risk management.

Camp Katoya offers bus services from many local towns. Visit gsofct.org for more information and directions.
