Streicker To Challenge DeLauro

Milford native Margaret Streicker announced March 7 that she is running for the Republican nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in Connecticut’s Third Congressional District.

Appearing before supporters at the Milford train station, Streicker said voters will have a clear choice this November and an opportunity to elect a congresswoman who will work tirelessly to get things done on behalf of the people of the district. If she receives the nomination she will face 30-year incumbent Rosa DeLauro in November.

“After 30 years, we are tired of having no choice, of having an absentee congresswoman who has stood by and done nothing but walk parades and send flowers as our state goes down by every economic measure,” said Streicker. “The people of our district, from New Haven to Hamden to Shelton, deserve a congresswoman who will work as hard as we do.”

The 44-year old-single mother of four has built, operated and owned several successful real estate companies, teaches graduate students about entrepreneurship and serves on several religious and charitable boards.

She founded New York City-based Newcastle Realty Services in 2004 and served as its CEO and president for over 15 years until closing it in December 2019. Her Connecticut firm, Newcastle Connecticut, completed and manages four projects in New Haven County, three of which are in downtown New Haven. She launched Fortitude Capital in January 2020, representing properties throughout the US, including a portfolio of student housing.

Streicker serves as a trustee to both the Jewish Museum and Congregation Emanuel, and previously served as a board member to the Catalog for Giving.

  1. What planet is Streiker living on? Rosa lives in New Haven. Is here everywhere with rare exception and is active in the community and in fact she works as hard as anyone I know.

If she wants to run for office she should be able to say what she would do in real and specific language.
