Notice is hereby given to the legal voters and those persons qualified to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of Orange, that the Annual Town Meeting of said Town will be held on Monday,
May 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium of the High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Road, Orange, CT for the purpose of taking action at that time upon the following matters:
1. To authorize the Board of Selectmen to sell and convey land acquired by the Town
through foreclosure of tax liens or by deed in lieu of foreclosure of tax liens.
2. To determine in accordance with Sections 12-142 and 12-144(a) of the Connecticut
General Statutes the installment due dates for all property tax including the property tax on motor vehicles.
3. To approve, pursuant to Section 13a-49 of the Connecticut General Statutes and other
applicable laws, the abandonment by the Board of Selectmen of Christmas Tree Lane. The abandonment was voted by the Board of Selectmen on April 13, 2016 at the request of James Brennan and Cesare Tomei through their counsel, Kenneth A. Votre, Esq. The legal description of the land to be abandoned and the maps are available for review in the Office of the Town Clerk.
4. To approve the purchase of real estate to wit: 445 Turkey Hill Road located within the geographical boundaries of Orange, Connecticut for a net purchase price of $325,000 subject to entering into an agreement of sale acceptable to the Town Attorney in form and content.
5. To receive, discuss and act on the report of the budget prepared by the Board of Finance
and to adopt a budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016.
