Anti-Hate Vigil Happening In Orange

Members of the Orange community will come together on Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Orange High Plains Community Center fairgrounds for a vigil against hate and antisemitism.

The event, which begins at 2:30 p.m., will feature guests and speakers including First Selectman Jim Zeoli; Rabbi Alvin Wainhaus of Congregation Or Shalom; Rabbi Michael Farbman of Temple Emanuel of Greater New Haven; Jewish Federation of New Haven CEO Gayle Slossberg; Matthew R. Bailey, pastor at St. Joseph of Arimathea American National Catholic Church; Cheryl Smith, parochial vicar of St. Joseph of Arimathea American National Catholic Church; state Sen. James Maroney; state Reps. Mary Welander, Kathy Kennedy and Charles Ferraro; and Gary Harger, who will sing “God Bless America.”

Donations to Food 2 Kids of Orange will also be accepted at the event, which is free and open to the public.
