The Cable Advisory Council of Area 2 is offering two $2,500 scholarships in memory of former longtime Chairperson Howard Jacobson open to residents of Milford, Orange and Woodbridge.
The CAC of Area 2 serves the towns of Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, Orange and Woodbridge promotes quality community access television.
Applicants must be a high school or college student pursuing a career in film, mass communications, television, journalism or e-media. The selected students will each receive a scholarship to help further their education. They must be enrolled in high school, community college, college or university.
Applicants must be actively majoring in, taking classes or engaged in independent studies in one or more of the qualifying media fields for the fall/spring terms of 2026/2027. They must also be in good standing with their academic institution.
Entrants must submit an essay under 500 words describing their creative coursework, portfolio or project and how it relates to the scholarship award. Supplemental links to media projects are welcome. Winners will be selected based on their overall academic performance, portfolio and their personal statement.
