Eastbound Theatre Seeks British Accents

Eastbound Theatre, a division of the Milford Arts Council, announced auditions for the second show of its 23rd season, the uproarious British comedy, “Run for Your Wife”, by Ray Cooney, directed by John Atkin.

Performances will be February 3rd through February 19th, 2017.

Auditions will be held on November 16th and November 17th, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Margaret Egan Center (35 Mathew Street, Milford). Additionally, interested actors who may be unable to attend those audition times should contact the Producer, Ann Baker at abaker0728@gmail.com to set up an alternate time.

Roles are available for 6 Men (ages 20s-40s), 2 Women (ages 20s-30s). Actors will be asked to read sides from the script. Actors interested in reviewing the script in advance should contact the Director at jatkin@silvermineinternational.com.

Synopsis:

John Smith seems to be your typical London cab driver, until an unfortunate mugging lands him in the hospital, where it is discovered that his life is anything but typical! He’s married to two women, and must try to explain what’s happened not only to them, but to two separate police officers, with only the help of his eccentric upstairs neighbor to try and keep his crazy scheme going.

Roles Available:

Mary Smith – A short and attractive woman in her late 20s-early 30s

Barbara Smith – A tall and attractive woman in her mid 20s

John Smith – An ordinary looking man whose appearance belies his eccentricities Late 20s – early 30s

Detective Sergeant Troughton – A slightly severe young officer – Late 20s – early 30s

Stanley Gardner – A bright fellow whose “brightness” is only skin deep – 30s

Newspaper reporter – A large gentleman – any age

Detective Sergeant Porterhouse – A middle aged family man

Bobby Franklin – A flamboyant dress designer of indeterminate age
