Milford Library To Discuss Census

The Milford Public Library will hold an informational session on the U.S. Census on March 18 at 6 p.m.

The Census, which begins this spring for most of the U.S., will be conducted mostly online for the first time this year. Mandated by Article 1, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, the Census has been conducted every 10 years ending in zero since 1790. It determines the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and guides the annual allocation of $675 billion in federal funding.

In 2020, there are four ways to respond to Census queries: online, on paper, by phone or by a personal visit from a Census employee.
