Milford Lifts Residency Order For Lisman Landing And Orchards Golf Course

Milford Mayor Ben Blake issued an executive order May 20 that lifts the residency requirements for use of two city-owned properties.

The Lisman Landing Marina and the Orchards Golf Course were declared exempt from a previous executive order issued by Blake on May 4 that allowed certain parks and beaches to open to Milford residents.

The other properties remain open only to Milford residents. They are: the community gardens, the Milford skate park, tennis courts, pickleball courts, Walnut Beach, Gulf Beach, Anchor Beach and Hawley Avenue Beach.

Visitors at all locations must continue to maintain social distancing and cannot gather in groups of more than five people at a time.

The new order did, however, lift some restrictions at the beaches: chairs, blankets, coolers and sporting activities will now be allowed, with spacing of 15 feet or more between beach blankets and face coverings worn in proximity to others. Swimming is permissible but will be at one’s own risk as lifeguard staff will be reassigned as beach monitors to ensure proper social distancing is being followed.
