High Plains Community Center in Orange will be the Connecticut site of the first National Walk for Long-Term Care Reform on Sunday, Sept. 27.
The walk is organized nationally by ROAR 4 LTC, a national nonprofit movement dedicated to long-term care reform.
State and federal legislators, the chair of the legislature’s Aging Committee, the UConn Center on Aging, the regional ombudsman and leaders from the Connecticut Residents Council will be attending and speaking at the inaugural event.
According to ROAR 4 LTC, the walk “will bring together families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, students, Girl Scouts, and community members across the country to call for transparency, accountability, and meaningful enforcement that improves quality of care and quality of life for people living in long-term care.”
The walk in Orange takes place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend. High Plains Community Center is located at 525 Orange Center Rd. For more information, visit roar4ltc.org/connecticut-roar.
