Local creative nonprofit Milford Makes will be transforming the Firehouse Gallery into a mini creative reuse center and makerspace for a weekend of shopping, workshops and creative activities from Sept. 25 to 27.
The weekend will begin with a Friday evening preview night, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets to this event are $5 in advance and $8 at the door. Patrons of the preview night will have the opportunity to be among the first to shop the pop-up and get first pick of donated art and craft materials before the weekend.
The pop-up shop will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. It will include a free kids’ bug collage workshop at 11 a.m. and a Sashiko workshop with 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. sessions on Saturday. The group’s Sunday Makers Meetup will run from noon to 2 p.m..
The pop-up is a chance for the community to experience a small-scale version of the makerspace and creative reuse center that the organization says it’s working toward establishing in Milford.
