Milford Surgeon Endorses Giannattasio For State Senate

Prominent Milford resident Dr. David Esposito has endorsed Anthony “Tony G” Giannattasio in his run for state Senator for the 14th District.

Giannattasio is running in the Republican primary for the district, which includes all of Milford and Orange, as well as portions of West Haven and Woodbridge. The primary is Aug. 14.

“I’ve witnessed Tony on the front lines as a decisive legislator that always has the best interests of taxpayers in mind,” Esposito, a vascular surgeon, said. “He’s a fighter that will work to cut regulations so that doctors can spend more time with patients than paperwork.”

Esposito is a Milford native who graduated from Foran High School before attending Yale University, where he earned a degree in chemistry. He received his medical training at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina.

In his free time, Esposito is active in the community as a member of the Milford Columbus Committee, the Milford Rotary Club and the United Way of Milford. He is on the Board of Trustees of the Milford Bank.

Giannattasio said, “Dave is one of the most relied upon, compassionate and trusted vascular surgeons and community leaders in Connecticut. For him to take the time from his extremely busy schedule to provide his support is both extremely gratifying and humbling.”

Giannattasio has been a member of the Milford Board of Aldermen since 2007 and is currently the Board’s Minority Leader and also serves on the Ordinance, Public Works, and Building committees, as well as on the Milford Planning and Zoning Commission. A longtime member of the Milford Columbus Committee, Giannattasio also is an incorporator of both Milford Hospital and Milford Bank. Additionally, he is vice president of Milford Barrel, a family-owned and operated business since 1972.

  1. I live in Mr. Giannattasio’s district in Milford. I contacted him twice with a concern about city activity. I did not get a response from him either time. If he does not respond to constituents when he’s representing a small slice of a small city, I have zero faith that he’ll represent us at the state level.

I contacted Pam Staneski with the same concern and she not only responded immediately, but she also reached out to find other resources to help me, and tried to mediate the issue with the city. She stayed in touch and went above and beyond in her efforts to help. There was nothing in it for her other than trying to do the right thing. I don’t have money or a platform; I just had a problem.

Pam is intelligent, she listens to her constituents, she keeps an open mind, she studies an issue before she votes on it, and she tries to do what’s right. I might not agree with her on every single issue, but I believe she’s a genuine, and all-too-rare, public servant. She’ll always have my vote.
