Cory Gumbrewicz, a tax collector in Milford’s Finance Department, has been named employee of the month for August by Mayor Ben Blake’s administration.
Gumbrewicz began his employment with Milford on Dec. 19, 2016 as certified tax collection clerk. He was promoted to Deputy Tax Collector on Sept. 25, 2017. In January 2019 he stepped in as Acting Tax Collector, and was officially appointed to the position on June 15 of this year. “Cory has proven to be a genuine asset. He has built strong working relationships with constituents and coworkers alike,” the city said in a release. “He and his team have implemented improvements for the tax office to operate efficiently and effectively. Cory has added the use of an outside company for the collection of delinquent taxes; his efforts in the process of selling delinquent tax liens and the implementation of various COVID-19 relief programs are just a few examples of his accomplishments”
