Orange Congregational Church has announced that Rev. Lauren Ostrout has become its new senior pastor.
Originally from Wadsworth, Ohio, Ostrout earned a BA in history from Elon University in North Carolina, followed by a master of divinity from Andover Newton Theological School in Massachusetts. She has served as a full-time pastor for six years at a UCC Church in Massachusetts and has been serving as the full-time pastor for the past nine years at a Colchester Federated Church in southeast Connecticut.
Ostrout said that it is vital for her to be part of a team in ministry. She is passionate about pastoral care and social justice and is looking forward to taking advantage of being “the church on the green” and for OCC to be a leader in the community in helping people connect and to have a sense of belonging.
Ostrout is part of a close-knit family that includes her parents in Ohio, her sister and brother-in-law in Washington state, and her husband, dog and stepson who lives with them part-time.
