Orange Land Trust Planning Annual Meeting, Hike

The Orange Land Trust is holding its annual meeting in May and a spring hike in June.

The annual meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 at 7 p.m. at the High Plains Community Center located at 525 Orange Center Rd. in Orange. The speaker for the evening is Amy B. Paterson, executive director of the Connecticut Land Conservation Council. She will speak about t role of land trusts in the community. There will be a question-and-answer period afterward, and light refreshments will be served.

The spring hike will be on Saturday June 15 at 9:30 a.m. at the Racebrook Tract off Racebrook Road in Orange, just north of Derby Avenue. The hike is free and open to the public. The trails meander through fairly level land, making it a pleasant walk. The OLT recommends hiking boots/shoes with good tread. Bring a hiking stick and a small water bottle. All dogs must be leashed.
