Orange Memorial Day Parade Set

Orange will hold its Memorial Day events starting on Sunday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. with a ceremony at the High Plains Community Center gazebo, followed afterward by a parade.

The grand marshal for this year’s event is Eugene Haekel, who served in Germany at the end of World War II, as well as in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

The chief of staff is Ned Martin, who served in the Army during Vietnam. The honored veteran is George MacLemen, who served in the Marines and the Marine Reserves during the 1970s and worked as a sports editor for the Lejeune Globe.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Perry Opin, who worked as an Army dentist during Vietnam.

High Plains Community Center is located at 525 Orange Center Rd. in Orange.
