Orange To Distribute Home COVID Tests

Orange will distribute free COVID-19 home test kits to town residents on Thursday, Jan. 6, at noon at High Plains Community Center.

Because of the limited supply, Orange is restricting distribution during the drive-up event to one kit per car. Each kit contains two tests. They will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

Cars should enter the south driveway near the high-tension wires and drive all the way around to the pickup point near Orange Center Road. Personnel will be available to queue the cars and direct residents to the pickup point. Those wishing to receive a test will need to provide an ID showing they are residents.

The town is asking residents not to arrive at the event early, leave or park their cars.

A previous distribution event planned for late December had to be scrapped when delivery of the tests to the state was delayed. The tests have since been procured.

High Plains Community Center is located at 525 Orange Center Road.
