PCAC Holds Distinguished Chiefs Awards Dinner In Orange

The Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut held its 2018 Distinguished Chiefs Awards dinner Sept. 26 at the Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange.

During the event, the PCAC recognized nine members of the South Central Regional SWAT Team who were injured during a May 2 incident in North Haven.

Three Connecticut Police Chiefs were honored: East Haven Police Chief Ed Lennon, Newtown Police Chief Jim Viadero, and Easton Police Chief Tim Shaw.

Chip Rubenstein, first vice president of the PCAC, said, “Lennon, Shaw, and Viadero were selected based on recommendations from PCAC members using input from the chiefs’ officers. The chiefs’ professional experience, education, and their contributions to the law enforcement community was also factored into the decision. Nominees are also vetted by previous honorees.”
