The National Federation of Independent Business announced Sept. 30 its endorsement of state House candidate Kathy Kennedy in her bid for the 119th district, which includes Milford and Orange.

The NFIB CT said in a statement it believes Kennedy, a Republican, “will be committed to the needs of thousands of Main Street small businesses and their employees in Connecticut when you are elected to serve in Hartford.”

‘I am privileged to earn the NFIB endorsement,” Kennedy said. “My message is simple: affordability. Affordability for taxpayers and for job creators. We need a state that fosters opportunity for all size businesses. We should not pick winners and losers. Give all businesses a chance to succeed instead of always being an impediment to company and job growth.”

Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members in Connecticut to help turn out the small business vote for Kennedy Nov. 6.
